He was also in 'Playing the Field' which also starred the actress that plays Frankie.

Fantastic.

Mike was brilliant, as was Penny...I was waiting for something like the line "Where's Bet?"...I wonder how long before he'll say "Where's Alma?"

It's bubbling away nicely with Emily, although I get a little tired of Norris always being "concerned".

My only real problem is the Baldwin overload...just focussing on Mike would be more than enough but we have Danny/Leanne, Jamie/Frankie, Carol and her alcoholism then Adam tied in with all of it....it's a bit much for my liking.

Sally is fantastic as ever! She had the line of the night - "An' what would you know eh? You're hardly Mothers' Day material"

A very good 2nd episode. The scenes with Mike and Penny at end were done very well, what a twist, Mike is blaming Penny and accusing her of scheming! Poor Mike when he lost his way and had to ask for directions. Also the part where he was asking Penny and Adam about testing his memory and got everything right except for what day it was.

The scenes with Ed, Rita, a typsy Emily and Norris were very enjoyable, typical of Norris to put a dampner on everything. Also we see Ed and Eileen getting to know each other over pork scratchings.

Jack being tangoed was very funny, what a sight! liked how Vera always attacks him going out the pub, a classic scene.

Glad Fred is going with Bev on the cruise, I think they make a good couple.

Also the scenes with Sally and Gail over Rawsie were very good as was the shocking scene between Hayley and Sally! Didn't expect her to attack Hayley though.

A very good episode

no, I don't think that's it either

anything else you guys know of?

I was thinking it was a police drama or maybe he played a tradesman on something. I really don't know though. It could be anything really. So, that's narrowed it down then . . . . .

Good episodes tonight

Poor Penny I feel really sorry for her, you can tell that she really does love Mike.

I loved the stuff with Sean and Violet awww bless them and I also enjoyed the stuff with Jack and Vera tonight as well even if it was again a bit too OTT.

Not too sure about the Fred and Bev relationship but it's OK I suppose.

I am enjoying the storyline with this Ed bloke as well, it's progressing nicely.

Poor Hayley, Sally was bang out of order tonight having a go at her, Hayley was only trying to help. It was good that they remembered (which they only do when it suits them) that Hayley used to be a boy, I did laugh when Sophie just came out with it, so insensitive. I love the new Sophie though, she's much better than Chesney, she's great

The stuff with Craig and Rosie was again enjoyable and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this storyline progresses.

Frankie and Carol were OK, it's when Carol is just ranting on about the same things over and over that she irritates me but with Jamie out of the picture at the moment she had some fresh dialogue tonight and I liked her.

Another good offering.

Not as much Webster's stuff in this second episode but all my favourite moments came from Sally. Her snobbery when talking about Rhursie to Gail was brilliant & you could tell that Gail wanted to say something a couple of times but prevented herself from doing so.
And that final remark to Hayley:- An' what would you know eh? You're hardly Mothers' Day material" made me wish that someone would give her a huge slap.

This is the mark of how successful a character / actress is ~ how you react to them. That one remark of Sally to Hayley caused more of a reaction in me that anything that Tracy / KF has done in the whole of her time on the Street.

Bev was really sweet when she admitted to Liz that she liked Fred & that it had "sort of crept up on her". Not surprised at all that Liz made jokes about Fred proposing & the pair of them being engaged by the end of the cruise.

The Mike stuff seemed a little uneven to me & nit being totally au fair with Alzheimer's I'm not entirely sure how true to life such swings in mood:- from being glad to seeing Penny in The Rovers to later accusing her of trying to manipulate his mind are. I've never particularly thought that Pauline Fleming (Penny) has made much of an impact as a character but this storyline seems to be giving her something to get her teeth into & I do feel sorry for her, although covering up stuff eg not telling Adam about Mike's proposal when he already knows his Dad has a problem seems a little odd.

Ed's reaction to Mike Baldwin in The Rovers would seem to suggest that the rumours about him being one of the gunmen involved in the wages snatch in which Ernest Bishop are true. There was certainly a flicker of recognition there when Emily introduced him.
I also liked Eileen's sudden interest in him along with Jason's comments that she was anyone's now for a bag of pork scratchings. lol!

7 and a half out of 10.

Her acting can be a bit grating and OTT. Just hope she improves as she get's older.

Sally loses the sympathy of the British public by attacking poor Hayley.

Is Jack tangoed all over. If not he will look even dafter.

I get the impression that Liz is not really wanted on the cruise

I just loved the scenes between Sean and Violet.

Two excellent episodes tonight, especially the second one.

The main storyline with Mike and Penny was very well done, from the proposal to him going into the pub and asking "Where's Bet?" to him throwing Penny out at the end. I didnt see that coming when he accused her of wanting him out of the way to get her hands on his money. I feel sorry for Penny too, both Johnny Briggs and Pauline Fleming were brilliant tonight though.

The storyline with the websters was also good again tonight. Poor Sophie though feeling left out. I think Sally was out of order speaking to Hayley like that, it was quite uncalled for. I just knew Gail would add her 2p worth to the situation as well.

Reet and Emily tipsy in the Rovers was funny. I think Reet fancies this Ed bloke , looks like Eileen certainly does. Was it just me or did he recognise Mike when Emily introduced him.

Oh god I hope we are not going to get a storyline between Violet and Sean where they try for a baby. Can they not come up with something else for a gay character?

The scenes with Jack and Vera were funny.

Thank god we get rid of Vernon for a month as well

8/10 for first episode
10/10 for second episode

Is it just me or is Hayley turning into a giant martyr lately? The writers are putting her on the receiving end of a lot.

I think Sally was well within her rights to tell her and Roy to mind their own business although she could've just said "Look this really isn't a good time for me".

And Tracy had better have a serious punishment coming to her really soon.
