I read about that story once, I think he was locked away on very flimsy and maybe circumstantial evidence!!

I was listening to Talk Radio on the night he was sacked, he was advising a girl about abortion which is against the rules and I contacted Talk afterwards and they said he had breeched the regulations.

Eric now works on BBC Essex if anyone's interested.

He was convicted for trying to obtain credit while being a bankrupt. He freely admitted it on air

He could have had guests in or on the phone and put together an hour or two hour a day show.”

He left Talk Radio in 1995, there was only a fledgling RealAudio doing streaming audio and 28.8 modems..... something like that was a long way off and the internet not very well known.

Besides his following was massively exagerated, The biggest thing about him was his ego

Quote:
“ He could have been part of an alternative media in the UK
The alternative media in the US is massive. People are beginning to see thru creeps like Hannity and O Reilly with his all spin zone.

The alternative media in the US is massive, its all over the web
where is the equivalent in the UK ?
Just David Iycke putting out a new book each year about shape shifting reptiles.... we are pathetic”

If David Icke is 'alternative media' then we can do without it.

Caesar was not 'alternative media'... he was a populist and without a journalistic bone in his body. I remember a story about him going off on one because he'd discovered the letters 'IRA' on a US payslip.... before someone pointed out that it was to do with tax.

There's also a major credability gap, no-one trusted him

Did he/does he still own Caesars nightclub?

I know there's one in Streatham, SW London.

Is that the one?

He was convicted of actually obtaining credit whilst not declaring he was a registered bankrupt (I think he bought a car on HP); not the crime of the century I agree, but he could've gone a lot further, and that's why fraudulent finance declarations are so heavily punished when they get found out.

Nope, the one he claimed to own was on the Old Kent Road, about 50 yards from the Bricklayer's Arms roundabout; the Caesars in Streatham has been closed/renamed for some years, as has the Caesars in or near SE1

Does anyone remember Ceasar's short stint on the now renamed Galaxy 101 ?. I was never really hooked on his shows, but I listened to him on Talk Radio when it first came on, but when he moved to Galxy he was only on on monday nights, I think that this made me appreciate the show a little more not hearinjg the same thing regurgatated every night. Plus I was only about 15 at the time so I thought that the guy really had the edge. Still he did about four or five shows at Galaxy, then without explanatin he was gone, most probably a big scrap with the managament.

What was Ceeasars political stance in general, I wasn't that astute then.

His main political points were along the lines of "lets execute child abusers and use their organs for transplants"

I am not quite sure what his views on whether we should have a planned, mixed or free market economy were

Oh My God, i can't believe these people all hailing Caesar! the guy was an idiot who appealed to like minded "lads" with not an ounce of intelligence or wit; He was a self professed expert on everything and infact knew very little about anything except the sound of his own irritating voice! Even his pathetic attempts at self promotion through so called "controversial views" and very amateur stunts failed miserably. He wasn't bright enough to fool anyone that mattered...we don't need that lowest common denominator of broadcasting surely!!!

So is he still doing that radio show, on the station that only broadcasts now and again?

Yeah I think he still broadcasts on Swale FM. I don't if he will this year. In Kent he still has a big following.

Invicta was a good radio station, nowadays it is so-so. Rod Lucas was great (he had the late night slot before Caesar). There was also the showbiz guy who did the show before Caesar, and does anyone remember there used to be a Sunday phone in show. It used to release a booklet twice a year about the radio programmes.

Kent radio isn't what it used to be.

I moved away from Kent in '88 but back then Rod Lucas and Caesar were bigger stars than people on the telly.

You just don't get that with local radio anymore.

And you never will ,with company's like GCap in control of things ! I was not a big fan of the man , but he was different
from other people - which has to be a good thing in this boring everyone playing safe radio world we have in britain
now . ( For the record I think Rod Lucas was the better broadcaster )

I agree! When I was a kid I phoned Rod up once live on air, I also wrote to him requesting a song to be played and I met him and got a signed photo at a Kent County Show one year. I felt sorry for Bob Ballard who was doing some presenting at the show as the crowds were huge and he knew they weren't all there to see him.

And, before anyone flames me, Mr Ryder has done the whole career ladder, from pirate to regional, national to London, and back down to smalltime RSL............OFCOM won't appreciate any application that has his name attached to it in any way...................just my opinion.”

I agree with you,if you were after a licence I don't think this person would be my first choice, obviously the people running this station are just having a laugh or simply stupid.

He is currently entertainments manager at an Essex nightclub (not caesars) and DJ'd there. Or at least was last year.

He was originally jailed for stealing money he'd asked Invicta listeners to donate for his disabled kids riding stable but was later aquitted, and then he was convicted of fraudulently applying for credit while bankrupt which i don't think he was aquitted for.

I've worked with him long time ago. Bit of a dodgy geezer, bit up himself, bit out for himself, but definitely not the worst person you could meet. Terrible reputation in the industry though, so probably better what he's doing now.
