Thanks for this. I hope its true, to be honest one of the problems with the street is too many youngsters, making it a mish mash of characters and no proper focus. Maria is now in the Candice category of simpleton characters that are easily lost.
No biggie. |

I can't even remember the last time she was on-screen and I won't be sorry to see her go, she's hardly an important character is she?

I must say i didnt mind her, but i will not be to bothered about her leaving, and i dont see why it has made 'headline' of a newspaper.
Good luck to her though.

Actually when I say there are too many younger characters, I take that back. There are too many adhoc characters who happen to be young and are not tied into a main family. Like Maria, Sean, whatsherface barmaid. These characters need pruneing.

I dont like Corrie's big cast list and think that Candice leaving was for the better. There are alot of younger people which i dont mind. As long as they get decent storylines with the charcater. I think Corrie brings them in for a story they have in mind and than just forgets about them and leaves them in the show just giving lines and being involved in other peoples storylines. |

Some youngersters I love like Rosie and Sophie, Craig, the Platts, but looseing Sunita to gain Amber is a bad sign. Did they not see what happened to Enders when LB focused on all those teenagers.
Gosh we are all up late or early

![]() I dont see how you can like Craig as he is such a unbelievable charcater and no teenager would act the way he has since two members of his family have dies and his mum is in prision. Yet he still cared about wearing padlocks around his neck and nail varnish after those events! I think he would still be greiving now. Although i know in a soap they only grieve for 1 week and than forget about it.

There are far too many side characters in Corrie who just fill up screentime, people like Diggory etc and is his daughter still around? I've not seen her for ages, infact I've not seen Diggory for a while either come to think of it.

Diggory needs to go but I fear with Fred leaveing they need their tokenistic looser in love fat man, so they may keep him. But his daughter is vile. Why do they need all these surplus people. Carol is also doing my head in, does anyone care if she drinks herself to death? Not I.
Plus that ridiculous artist woman. For the first time in years I actually watch Eastenders before Corrie. I still think the writing is the best but the characters and plotlines just seem tired. I know they will sort it out but they really do need some lovable characters. But the new producers decision to keep Janice doesnt give me hope. |

I have a feeling all these characters are there because of the 5 nights a week schedule but the problem is these characters aren't being developed atall.
I also don't know why they need 70 odd people to do 5 episodes a week, EastEnders only has one episode less and there's only around 30-40 people in their cast. |

Good. She was on my axe list. I don't really like any of her stories she does, she never seems around and she's only there for her looks I feel. At least this way we might see the character do something before she goes.

No links avalible for full story at the moment. Daily Star front page Whether it's true or not.. ![]() It could be a year before she's at the leaving time cos of pregnancy stage, as well.So as with all these stories made up from probably a remark made to someone and passed on to a paper from a 'friend', - if it exists at all - I'll believe it when it happens. She gets paid a lot of money for the little she does on Corrie, hope her new hubby earns enough to cover her wages as well, if she leaves!

I hope she stays too. It's a shame that she is so under-used because when she does get storylines she always acts them really well.
