I watched Bad Wolf again tonight on Teleport and was surprised to hear season 2's keyword being said, has anyone else noticed this? It's when Rose is playing The Weakest Link.

Just thought it was interesting to hear it being used already, then.

Yes, I noticed it the other day. Anne Droid asks a question about a pyramid built on the site of which former building, answer being Torchwood.

I would have thought there were five Torchwood buildings, one for each laser. I'll work out where they are when I can be bothered!

I assumed the five firing points were mobile units, as it would be one hell of a co-incidence for the ship to have arrived sock in the middle of Earth's only useful weapon?

Torchwood is a new series on the BBC about .. er ... Torchwood. They set it up a bit with references to it - lost a third of their staff etc. It's gonna have Captain Jack in it and, I'd guess, Harriet Jones as she seemed to be written out of Doctor Who in a bit of a hurry in the Christmas special. I reckon she ended up being too strong a character / actress to be left with the odd fleeting appearance on Doctor Who - she's gonna be Captain Jack's boss.

Just guessing though. I don't know anything!

I hereby accept my nomination as dumbass numpty of the year. And, even at this early stage, doubt I'll be beaten to the trophy.

Sat at desk. Very red.

I very much doubt that the US would allow us to have to have the go word on such a powerful weapon. Don't forget, the ep was set in Britan's Golden Age,

Lordy we've even managed to get a working satellite launched (Guenivere 1).

This was probably another instance of the Brits invent something and then other coumtries take it over. Anyhow imagine the squaking in the UN "You had this all along! ..."

But Harriet Jones did make a very firm stance against the US, making it clear she was no puppet of the President.

During TCI, she was speaking and acting on behalf of the whole planet, iirc.

Torchwood is supposed to be a secret organisation that Harriet Jones wasn't even supposed to know about...well 'officially' anyway...think she said something along those lines to the guy from UNIT.

Perhaps this will be investigated in more detail when the series kicks off.

There's another reference here which I found earlier... if you hover over Strood's picture at the top of the Big Brother screen, you'll see he's from Torchwood. Interesting to see that Rose is from Earth and not London then!

Oh and hello by the way, this is my first post on here
