I have a Poineer DVR 420H. I love it....except. When I record longish programmes, (I've not managed to do much detailed analysis but it seems to be over 3 hours) I get whole chunks of grey in the middle. So over the holiday, I had recorded (Standard Play, to HDD from Sky box) Gone with the Wind and was "chasing" (playback during recording) starting about 30 mins after the start (though I don't believe "chasing" is relevant as I remember other similar issues on longish recordings before). At 3 hrs 3 Min and NN secs, the recorded picture was lost and approx five mins of grey space was recorded. After this 5 mins, the recording resumed. No big deal, you can miss any half hour of GWTW and not miss much, but missing a try in the five nations rugby upcoming, now that would be a disaster.

Any ideas? The manual talks about a max continuous recording time of 6 hour in Standard Play. Should I be scheduling programmes over 2 hours long as multiple scheduled recordings?
