How do I multi region my 530?

Just started setting up my 530 and first thing I noticed is it is not multi region. Please tell me there's an easy hack as 1/3 of my collection is region 1 or 3!

Lots of weird things going on but that's probably because I haven't read the manual yet . More questions later I suspect.

Found another thread on the board that says Pioneers are not hackable and need an upgrade disk. Anyone kow any different before I buy a disk off DVDChips?

Thx.

Just loaded the multi region unlock disc I got off eBay and 'jobza goodun'. Take about 5 minutes of waiting round for the software to upload and a reboot and your away. Not bad for £4.25 plus the usual rip off postage ie. £1.50 for a 47p stamp

Only thing to beware of is it seems to do a factory reset so If you have any weird settings it maybe worth making a note before starting.

Does the disc do anything to the hard drive? Also, is it safe - is there any chance, for instance, that it will void the warranty?

Who did you get it from on ebay?

Not that I could detect. Only thing it did (other than turn it multi region) was reset the EPG so had no listing for 24 hrs.

Always that possibility I suppose but there are companies in the OK that sell them multi region enabled so suspect not.

Got mine from a guy called Antbladder. He hasn't got any on their at the moment but If you type in DVR520 there's two on at the moment (one at 99p and the other £4.75..?)

Ah, right. I only just got mine yesterday, so don't want to risk it. Guess I'll just hold onto my old dvd player as well, for now.

Did mine in the first week which was about 5 weeks ago with no problems so far... in fact I haven't even used the multi region element yet
