Should be a good one...on paper at least..

In the evening, Thelma Louise takes to the stage of the Woolpack and rather inappropriately makes snide remarks about her new lover. Ivan later informs Paul that Thelma Louise’s behaviour has ruined their chance of a relationship. As they return to the bar and see all eyes on them, Diane reveals that Thelma Louise’s radio mic has picked up the whole conversation. How will Ivan react to being publicly outed and how will the rest of the village react to the new couple?

Meanwhile on Barbara’s doorstep, Viv is getting nowhere when Val decides a more radical approach is needed. She tells Barbara it is literally the last chance Bob may get to see his children again, as he is going blind. Viv is angry but will she stick to Val’s story?

Elsewhere, after Turner receives a mysterious silent phone call he is shocked to find out that Betty has been in touch with his son Terrence. Is the mystery caller Terrence and will he return the call?

Writer: Phillip Meeks (brother of the actor who plays Simon, fact fans)

This may have been brought up before but can someone confirm if Barbara is going to be played by Julie Dawn Cole who played Veruca Salt in the original "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"?
From the pictures I've seen of her in Emmerdale, it certainly looks like her.

Yep, that's her. I don't think she sticks around...Jean is already returning full-time played by a different actress.

Thanks Drifter. But who's Jean? Are you talking about Zoe's daughter? If so, what's this got to do with her? (Sorry if I'm being incredibly dim here)

LOL, no it's another of Bob's ex-wives...Dawn's mother. So if Jean is sticking around, I can't see Barbara doing so...though it could be quite funny.

Noooo, Val is bloody brilliant, she's fabulous tonight. I love the "blind" story Remember she's doing it for Bob, who she's always been close to, rather than Viv.

I was just thinking that...she looked utterly fabulous tonight, the clothes AND the hair. I know she's old but I really do think Steph/Lorraine looks lovely

Good episode

Nice to see Paul standing in the dark village alone at the end there, haven't we had a scene like that before after one of his outings as Thelma Louise? I think it was after Rodney had said something to him.

Poor Ivan, it was one of those moments where I cringed for the character because obviously it wasn't supposed to happen that way.

I cringed at the Themla Louise stuff, it's just because it was odd and something different even though we have seen it before. It's a shame Shadrach wasn't there fancying Thelma Louise again.

Liked the stuff with Viv, Val and Bob's ex.

Jimmy was good tonight. Nice to see that he can hold a sensible conversation with Matthew once again.

Val has to cheapen the whole thing. She really ruins things

Great episode spoilt by Val

I loved Nicola's shocked expression and dropping the drinks

It was good tonight, though the Thelma Louise act dragged a bit, and yeah, why did they miss the opportunity to have Shadrach lusting after Thelma again? I thought Matthew's reaction was funny.

Felt sorry for Ivan...but Val's "don't you make a lush couple" when they came out (so to speak ) was fab and lightened the mood.

The Steph/Alan/Betty scenes were nice, looking forward to that storyline.

I had to watch through half-closed eyes for the drag act suff. Poor Ivan. He didn't look very comfortable with it either, even before Paul kept making his digs. And watch Rodney squirm!

I would have liked to see Paul crying at the end, as well as looking lost and lonely.

Val was a classic! Bob going blind!! Am looking forward to te Winter Wonderland wedding - very crafty Val....describing all those fabrics and drapes (ie curtains!) that are going to be needed!!

Great episode apart from ThelmaLouise. Please put her to rest.

Sometimes Val lightening the mood ruins the entire tone and pace of the scene and it really did tonight.

They do make a 'lush couple'. I hope they sort everything out, I'm loving their storyline.

Do they ever properly get together? In the previews for the next few eps, Ivan finally gives Paul a chance to speak and Paul confesses he's falling in love with him. Then all we get is how will Ivan react and nothing about it in the later episode previews.

And Edna and Matthew. Nice to see people acting in character. If Cain had been there I bet he'd have a face like thunder too

Shame more of the villagers couldn't have been there. There seems to be a lack of cast lately.

If they do it right, Edna and Matt could be a great comic double act! When they were tring to find that file was funny!

Really good episode. Loving Ivan & Paul. Edna's very good at the moment with her "Mr Matthew" and "Mr James" stuff.
