Favourite Comedy Scenes in Soaps - Whats yours?
For EE it has to be in the wake after Den's descovery, whe Pauline tells Dot that her doggy door stop has been taken, in which Dot replied: 'they've arrested Betty?' the look on Paulines face was priceless
For Corrie, it has to be when Deirdre and Tracey ended up in the swimming pool. To see Deirde upside down with her legs kicking in the air was hilarious, it cracked me up

I like Stacey's one-liners in Eastenders. Calling Alfie a 'dirty perv' and asking Johnny if he's asking her out have been a couple which stand out in my memory!

I think last nights scene with Paul and Ivan in the toilets was the funniest soap moment in a long time!

Cilla and Les's wedding. I thought it was hilarious!
Also, Sean, the vet and "Bella-Sinead".

IN CORRIE I don't know if this counts as a moment, but when Sophie Webster started hanging around with that long-lost cousin of hers, or something and when Sally was in the kitchen talking to Kev about it, she compares her Dad to Ghandi!!!! It was hilarious, but you sort-of had to be there!!!

I also thought that one of the funniest scenes was with Dev, Sunita, Norris, Freda and Emily all in a car. The Alahan lady was deparate for the loo because she had been drinking a lot of water for her scan and they were taking Emily to hospital. Dev had a phonocall but Norris wouldn't let him answer it then I seem to remember the phone going to Emily then Sunita!
I laughed so much in that scene!

Without a doubt the funniest ever scene was from Corrie. Reg Holdsworth had lured his lover Maureen to his bedroom and seduced her on the waterbed. Dozy Derek was downstairs in the Kabin doing a spot of DIY.. He drilled a hole in the ceiling. Yes you've guessed it. The drill went straight through the bed.... Much hilarity ensued......

One of my alltime favourites is when Jim Branning sucked up Dot's budgie (Joey) with the hoover
![]() That was classic and everytime Dot refers to the incident she says that Jim murdered 'him'

Jack "Vince Sinclair" Duckworth video dating was the funniest ever.
.....closely followed by the fairground fiasco in Eastenders with Sonia coming out with that immortal line "Get Den Watts. He'll know what to do." |

Yes, I agree that Julia Brogan in Brookside was a very funny character - those malapropisms!
I love Lizzie from prisoner. She had a lot fo very funny scenes-rather difficult to select 1. |

I remember that one My funniest ones were Hollyoaks - When Ben did this really funny impression of Izzy swimming in a really posh manner. - Izzy recieving copies of her wedding invitations and Ben laughing when he saw they read something along the lines of "You are invited to the marriage of Benjamin Davies and his ride to be, Easy Cornwell" Corrie - Dev and Sunita's engagement party. Everyone is in the pub waiting for them to turn up, inclusing Blanche and Deirdre. When they do arrive Blanche starts clapping wildy. Deirdre turns to her and says "Mother why are you clapping so excitedly. I didn't think you knew them that well." and Blanche replies "Well they are finally here so we can start the buffet" ![]() - Shelley thumping Peter. It was such a badly staged thump. Shelley's hand stopped miles from his face and the thumping sound was out of sequence with the action. |

By far the funniest soap has to be Neighbours. It has some great comedy dialogue which keeps it cheerful.
