I've been using SIPGate for a month or so now and in general it's fairly good. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be good enough for the missus to let me cancel the landline

The main problem that seems to keep cropping up is problems on the transition from a ringing phone to an answered phone.

Sometimes on incoming calls the call seems to answer but we can't hear anything from the other end. It seems to be 50-50 as to whether the person calling us can hear anything or not.

Is this a problem with SIPGate or something not right with the setup I'm using (PAP2 and a QoS configured router with a wired connection between the router and PAP2 and the usual PAP2 ports forwarded).

I know a few other people on here are using SIPGate and wondered if anyone else had similar problems - or answers!

Thanks,
Keith

There is a slight problem at the moment, that is being looked into. But I am used to it, so live with it at the moment.

That is for some reason it is a taking a couple of seconds for the signal to reach the other persons end to say the call is connected.

This means when you answer an incoming call you will hear silence for a couple of seconds, just hang on and the call will come through and will continue no problem, the person the other end will not notice anything, to them they just keep hearing the ringing tone, until you hear them actually answer, which is when the call actually connects.
