RDR - HX900 - dubbing

When i record to a DVD straight from sky it records as seen on screen.
When i record onto the Hard Drive the same thing as before, records as seen in screen.
But if i dub from HDD onto disc it records in letterbox ( 2 Black lines top and bottom)
Any ideas how to stoip this doing that? i have tried lots of Different settings but nothing.
Thanks
Steven

It may be the DVD type.
It doesn't explain why it's OK recording direct to DVD I know.

There is something about widescreen being handled differently between DVD+R and DVD-R.

Think DVD-R is the one that works correctly.

Really hope someone else posts a better answer for you.

We have checked our handbook, Page 49 and it quotes on adjusting the recording picture quality and size. On the remote control, press TOOLS and scroll down and select "Rec Settings" then press enter.

On the menu it has HDD Rec Picture Size and DVD Rec Picture Size. Whatever settings HDD Rec Picture Size is on make the DVD Picture Size the same. I think this should then record onto a DVD the same size picture as it is recorded onto the HDD.

I may be wrong and you may have already tried this, but anything is worth a go. Hope it works.

Thanks just tried that and i canged to lots of different settings but still dident work.
But reading other threads i see something about DVD+R and DVD-R.
I tried the DVD-R and it works much better ( full screen no lines) its the DVD+R which is the problem, They only record Full screen when i record Direct to disc ( not dubbing from hard drive).

I bought some DVD-R discs today to see if that sorted my problem and it dident.
Then i started playing around and its only when i dub in LP or lower that i get the black lines, if i dub in SP it is fine but i be only able to get 2 hours on a disc.
