Had this recorder for a few weeks now and while I don't record a great deal of stuff I have noticed it's been deleting stuff on it's own even though the hardisk is 90% empty

Have gone though the various setups and disabled the autodeletes even though the unit should not delete stuff unless it's low on space so am at a loss to what is wrong!

Could the unit be faulty?

That sounds dangerous......

My 510 is away for repair so can't check.

I never changed any settings on mine.The HDD had less than 3 hours (SP) left with no automatic deletion being seen, or wanted. Did get a warning when setting a timer that not enough space was left for the recordings.

Why not phone Sony, they were very helpful with my DVD problem.
