Sipgate
Does anyone know how long Sipgate takes for incoming calls to work?
I set an account up a couple of hours ago and can call 10000 with no problems. However when I call 0115 8XXX XXX from my mobile I get "User Busy" and from my home phone I get "The number you called is busy". I have voicemail on the account (and have done for over an hour) so even if my PC was set up incorrectly surley it should be diverted to that? I can call the voicemail number (020) and access my, empty, mailbox. Sipgate also shows me as online. Anyone know what i'm likley to be doing wrong? (My Freedom 2 Surf 0845 account work fine - well my home phone number popped up in XLITE and my F2S number on my DECT phone) |

Didn't take very long at all when I set it up - certainly less than hours.
Have you got all of the port forwardings setup correctly for incoming messaging? |

Server Name External Port Start External Port End Protocol Internal Port Start Internal Port End Server IP Address SIPGATE 5060 5060 UDP 5060 5060 192.168.7.200 SIPGATE 8000 8012 UDP 8000 8012 192.168.7.200 SIPGATE 5004 5004 UDP 5004 5004 192.168.7.200 SIPGATE 10000 10000 UDP 10000 10000 192.168.7.200 SIPGATE 3478 3497 TCP/UDP 3478 3497 192.168.7.200 Upnp would be so much easier! |

Have you re-registered on the network since having the number assigned? It might be worth power cycling the ATA or VOIP phone to force a full re-registration. (Which are you using?)

Ah - what about firewalls? Have you tried with any personal firewall on the PC switched off?

You usually get the busy tone ringing in when there is a problem with the ports, whether due to the router or firewall.
Have you tried a STUN server, to see if that helps? You can use stun.fwdnet.net |

However the thing that really gets me, is that as voicemail is active surley it should be diverting to that when I am uncontactable? |
