Ergh!

They are ruining a lot of great songs. I just heard them perform "Yellow" by Coldplay, and it was pooo! They already ruined Life on Mars by Bowie and they DESTROYED Bohemian Rhapsody.

ARGH!!

I just looked at their album tracklistings *shakes head*, no, *hits head on wall*

Suerly Louis Walsh will run out of covers for his ''artists'' soon... do Westshite, G4 and Girls Aloud release anything but covers these days? I crigned when reading Westlife were going to release a Christmas album and a duets album.... another 2 albums full of covers then. Is it just me, or if you were them would you have absolutely no satisfaction from your job? Turning up at a studio, being giving someone else's song to sing and then going home. They really are a disgrace to the music industry.

I had to listen to G4's appalling version of 'Yellow' over Christmas dinner fer crying out loud! My sister bought my mother their album for Christmas... I have now disowned the pair of them.

I know people on here like to give Coldplay a lot of stick, but Parachutes is one of my favourite albums of all time, and Yellow one of the best tracks off it. Why that one? Why?!

If they are so concerned with being seen as credile artists and not another Pop Talent show reject it's hardly helping them to keep releasing or recording other people's songs, is it? At least Will Young has sort of moved beyond that... as for the rest of them.

Someone suggested to Will that he should do an album of classics (Gershwin, Cole Porter etc) but he said he wants to sing his own music at this stage. Good for him!

Isn't the music in that girls aloud song which goes, erm "I don't need no good advice" or something stolen from another song? It sounds soooooooooo familiar.

As for G4, look at their album tracklistings:

G4

1. Bohemian Rhapsody (Graham Stack & Brian Rawling Mix)
2. Nessun Dorma
3. Everybody Hurts
4. Circle Of Life
5. Creep
6. To Where You Are
7. Life On Mars
8. Flower Duet
9. Broken Vow
10. Jerusalem
11. You'll Never Walk Alone
12. My Way

G4 and Friends - Original title, isn't it?!

1. Barcelona - G4 & Lesley Garrett
2. Yellow
3. When A Child Is Born
4. Fever
5. Miss You Nights - G4 & Cliff Richard
6. La Donna E Mobile
7. Another Day
8. Last Song
9. You're The Voice
10. First Of May - G4 & Robin Gibb
11. Wonder Of You
12. I Vow To Thee My Country
13. Beautiful
14. Remember Me
15. Au Fond Temple Saint

Why?!?!?!?!?"£!?!?$$?!"£?%

And of course you didn't notice that 'Another Day' is an original not a cover. There are loads of singers who do covers why pick on G4? I love listening to them along with many thousands of other people so you have the usual answer - if you and the rest of the posters on here don't like them don't listen. As a matter of interest why do you listen to them??

I think they were picked on due to the fact that they are just a covers band rather than an original band. As you said there are lots of bands that do covers, however the vast majority do this as a change from the norm in their career, not just album after album of covers.

I personally dont mind them, but i can see where people are coming from in their arguments. Bands surely dont just want to release cover after cover, they can never be proud in just rehashing old tunes.

As I said, 'Another Day' is a new song not a cover. Given that they haven't stopped travelling, recording and performing since the X-Factor they have hardly had time to write songs. After all they never expected to be where they are now when they entered the competition so they didn't have a portfolio of songs already at hand. They all read and write music, play several instruments and do all their own musical arangements. After the next tour in May/June maybe they will have time to start writing some of their own songs. I'm perfectly happy either way especially at their !ive concerts which are superb entertainment

I never debated the fact that Another Day is not an origianl song, well done G4!! Work out their covers to their original ratio and tell me that is a good statistic for them. So they travel around and hardly have any time to write songs, so does every other artist and they have to find the time if they wish to write their own material so that can hardly be an excuse can it?

It is obvious that G4 are cashing in whilst they can by covering as many tunes as they can, easy money for easy work. I dont blame them at the end of the day but i dont really see how so many people can think they are the bees knees when literally anybody who can sing can do what they do. Thats just IMO

4. Fever (won't stop us singing)
5, Yellow (fever might do though)
6. Remember Me (the blond one - forget the rest)
7. Last Song (you wish)
8. To Where You Are (we threaten to perform)
9. Your'll Never Walk Alone (unless your one of our fans)
10. My Way (for Louis Walsh)
