Humax 8000T remote and manual needed?
ginetta

I have just got a Humax 8000T box but I have no remote or instructions? Has anyone got a spare remote and or instructions I could buy?
Has anyone got the remote infra red code so I could use a universal remote?

You can download a manual from the website. This link should take you there or go to humax.com

Can't help with the remote though. Sorry!

why dont you just go back to the shop and ask them to give you everything you paid for?

I bought the machine as an ex demo from Currys sale bin for £40 as it had no box, manual or remote and and it works fine so far as a freeview box using the front panal buttons. The problem is that there is no play button on the front to play recordings to make use of the hard drive.
Thanks for the link I have downloaded the manual fine but I still need to to buy or even just borrow a remote to get the settings on my universal remote programmed in.
Anyone live near me in York or have the remote codes I could borrow?

My box is a 40gig machine but the remote codes I've tried so far wont work sadly. One remote seems to require 3 fig numbers and a later one needs four figure codes? Can anyone recommend universal remotes that can send signals to the box to detect its settings easily?
May try a one for all if no success soon.

ginetta, Try contacting Humax support at their website. They are very helpful.

I could not get my universal remotes to pick up the humax codes except 1427 which will only work for changing channels etc but not the PVR funtions on a Kameleon 4. My other TCM remote needs 3 figure codes so no luck there either.
So I have now managed to get a recon remote which to me looks new from Humax for £16 which isn't too bad.
Hope it works. New ones are aound £30!
Anyone know why my analogue channel 5 on the telly goes milky when the Humax is on at the same time?

Because the RF output from the Humax is on the same frequency as C5

Go to MENU->Preferences->UHFTuning

It's probably set to 36, change this to something else (say 38)

I did a search sometime back with the model number of the remote and found the genuine article on the net to buy but at £39.95 i considered it a bad deal and sold my box with the worn remote, if someone can post the number thats on the remote for you here then try using google or similar search engine.
