I recently purchased some Panny DVD-R 4x discs and recorded successfully to them and was able to play them back on my E55. However, when I went to play them on a Philips player, they were not recognised by the machine. Does anyone know of a brand and type of disc that I can use to record from the E55 and play on other models? Thanks

Not the same recorder but have used Ritek/Ridata -R's without problem on my ES20 - play in the other 3 players in the house. TDK -RW's likewise.

You have to finalize discs before playing them on other players. Did you do this?

With the -R disc in, press Function on the remote control (bottom right), then Disc Management, it's on there
