Hi!
Hope no-one minds me saying a few things!
Seems things got a bit heated in here!

Firstly, I quite enjoyed Dancing on Ice partly because it was nowhere near as hideously vile as I thought it would be - given ITV's knack of making reality TV well... tacky! For want of a better word! It obviously SCD for ITV and follows the same format as SCD, it is so blatant! ITV doesn't do it as well though, although its only week 1 so it might get better.

I actually enjoyed the skate-off Gaynor appeared to be the better of the two, I thought. Just thought of Colin & Erin's rumba though when they ice danced to "You're Beautiful"!
I think the size of an ice-rink makes it seem like an air hangar. Concorde of Skates! Getting interesting mental imagery!

I was impressed with John Barrowman, someone has touted him as a possible celeb for SCD4 on another thread.

Is ice-skating harder than dancing? I have no idea. I generally can't and don't dance since I was informed I made David Brent look like a good dancer and the only time I tried ice-skating I spent a few hours in A&E with a concussion! So I'm going to be diplomatic and say they both look really hard!

If you understand skating, I don't know why you consider the judges to be 'plastic' ...

Nicky Slater and Karen Barber were British champions, while Robin Cousins surely needs no introduction!!

Please don't feel like that and welcome to the forum! We're glad to have you here!

Yeah but they have five of them and they interview two, their responses are very staged and choreographed.

No need to feel like a leper! There are a few Dancing On Ice threads in the reality TV section, although Im sure you've already seen them:

Maybe if there's enough interest, and if you ask the site administrators sweetly enough, they may designate DOI its own forum, but at the minute I'm sorry to say that there doesn't look to be that much interest.

If you haven't seen SDC, then you won't know what it's like when you have 4 non-plastic judges. All giving their opinions at the same time and arguing with each other. Us viewers don't properly hear what they are saying. Throw in an arm-waving Italian, a sex-obsessed choreographer and TinTin, and you have complete chaos!!!!

Have to take your word for it. But Tin Tin cant be there he isnt a real person!

I thought that was because they were skating experts first, and celebrities second. Hopefully they'll grow with confidence as the series progresses (just like the skaters themselves).

Now you're speaking we language!

What was all the misunderstanding about!

digimon900

I think the misunderstanding was to do with the fact that someone suggested tinTin was there, which is physically impossible!

Tin Tin's hair is definitely on the judge's bench.

Speaking as a comparative newcomer, I think you'll find that we threaders (if that's the correct term - couldn't bear forumers) are quite often given to flights of fantasy.

You're the first to ask about the meaning (although many have guessed it's Welsh). If you're (semi) based in Llandudno, don't you speak the language of heaven yet??

Ysbryd = spirit

y = of the

ddawns = dance (soft mutation as it's feminine if you're a dysgwr)

Would you mind explaining a little further please?
I would like to see the phonetic equivalent - as when I see your name that's all I do... I *see* the shape of the words but can't read them or hear them in my head.

Is this another north south difference?

Thought so - you are learning - well done! Or should I say da iawn!.

dawnsio = verb

dawns = noun

Been there, done that, wearing the t-shirt. Keep at it - you'll be over the bridge soon too. (That'll bamboozle the non-Welsh! Pontio = crossing the bridge, means becoming fluent in Welsh).

I chose my name from Digital as in digital spy and mon being the way jamaicans greet each other, derived from the word man. Digital spy stuck the 900 on the end for me as a present

Why would they do that *feels thick*?

I don't think I would like someone adding just any old number to a name of mine without asking me.

Have there really been 899 Digimons before you??????
