Was there much of the interview left Den after you skipped through their endless drivel?
Why can't they ask sensible questions and actually listen to someone's answers without feeling the need to cut in or talk over them.

I am not actually interested in BB or CBB, but I do think Davina comes across well in interviews. Unfortunately, she didn't get much chance to say anything without constant inane interruption.
I guess they are famous for conductiing the kind of interviews they do - is it a case of the audience laughing at them instead of with them?

It really isn't in my case... They infuriate me. I hate the fact these two have been allowed to get away with complete unprofessionalism for years, when people like, say Angus Deayton, make one mistake and lose their job over it (only example I could think of at the moment)
The number of times Judy cannot even look at the person she is talking to... constantly covers her face with her hands in the middle of a conversation... and always always interrupts (aggressively enough to completely cut off the person talking to her).
They seem to think that they are doing their guests a favour by giving them a platform to speak/advertise, without realising that without the guests there would be no platform there.
JB seemed genuinely excited about Torchwood, and R&J, with their years of "professionalism" behind them should have realised that with the huge success of Doctor Who, the viewers would have been more interested in hearing about that than whether a fictional bisexual character fancied Richard or Judy more.
Well past their best, and shouldn't be pandered to by the (increasingly powerful) channel 4 anymore.

Oh, rant as much as you like - and I completely agree with you in that we should have heard more from JB and less (a lot less!) from R&J.
I never watch them as I find them irritating - unless there's a guest on their show that I want to see, of course.
But at least by recording the programme I could skip through most of the dross and only watch the bit I wanted to see.
I wonder if they have stayed for so long because of their 'novelty' value rather than their professionalism?
N.B. I agree about AD - I love his razor-sharp wit and think it's about time he was 'pardoned' and allowed back on tv.

People say Parky panders to his guests when he interviews them... and can even come across as slightly sycophantic to them... but even if he does, he still allows them to speak, only gearing the conversation a different way rather than controlling it.
I didn't like JB at all during and before his Doctor Who run. I got the impression that his lines about how good looking he was could actually have been written by himself as he has always (to me at least) given across that air of superiority, and it put me off him... but on R&J, for the first time, I actually found myself wanting to listen to him... but couldn't.
Now Richard came across in an interview yesterday and said something along the lines of being glad they didn't have to compete directly with their old friend Paul O'Grady... With his move to Channel 4, and their sharing of the same timeslot, I reckon the weaknesses of R&J are going to be even more apparent, and reckon this run of their show could potentially be their last.
Agree completely about Angus... even people (like Davina) who are quite open about their past drug taking are still on television... Angus has paid his dues and should be given something better to do than the "before they were famous" shows he does.

Sorry to make this off-topic even further... but Paul Abbott said one of the best things i've ever heard when accepting an award for Shameless... something along the lines of how television producers and programme makers should stop pandering to the established stars, and scour stage schools etc. to find brilliant NEW talent as it's the only way that television can continue to be fresh and entertaining.
ITV did this to a certain extent with Paul O'Grady. Although he was already an established performer. He hadn't been given a show of that format to do on television before.
I would rather Channel 4 revert back to the premise of it's early days and start producing new programes with fresh talent... even if occasionally it doesn't work out. Would more than likely tune into that than the smug, self-appreciative R&J.

When Channel 4 first started it was quite daring and bold with it's output and remit which I feel has been watered down over the years. Sure we get the odd gem here and there but it doesn't have the impact it did when it first started out in 82.

Completely agree... there seems to have been nothing new or edgy (with the exception of Shameless) been shown on Channel 4 for a long time.
I actually believe Channel 4 could get away with showing a lot more cutting edge/envelope pushing stuff, as it is generally perceived as the channel that WOULD show things like that, so the moral guardians amongst us would be less likely to complain to OFCOM... (another of my pet hates!!)
