Can any of you wonderful DS forum members help me out?

I'm trying to get hold of the debut album by Seal - released in 1991, I believe.

I know this doesn't sound like a tall order, but the album was remixed shortly after its release; I am after the non-remixed version and it's getting very hard to find.

There is, however, a way to identify which version is which: On the CD there's an extra ID code printed/stamped onto the disc. It's located between the centre hole and the track "grooves".

Here are the code for the remixed CD:
903174557-2.2 WME
(Possibly also noted as: 0090317455723)

And this is the code for the "premix" version (the one I'm after):
903174557-2 WME

Can anyone can help me locate a copy of this version? Do you wish to sell yours? Are there MP3 versions out there?

Please send me a Private Message if you can help.......

Many thanks!!

Hi all, me again......

Big thanks to Paul for his help, but we somehow came up with the wrong version (again).

For those in the know (and in case I have got my serial numbers the wrong way round or something) the CD I'm after is the one without the voices on the last track ("Violet").....

Anybody else.......?

Hey Robo, got your PM but i thought id post the info on here:

Right the good news is that the Rare records place i went to has both of the cd numbers you have quoted above

The bad news is that because i didnt get your PM till this evening, i didnt read it in time so I dont know which numbered CD you are after.

So; if you clarify to me which one it is you want I will get it for you or otherwise I can give you the telephone number of the place and you can arrange something with them directly

Had to laugh when I saw this thread, simply at the fact that as I've obviously not been alone in hunting out the exact same album (although I've kinda given up after 10 years!)

Anyhow in-case you don't know, Trevor Horn (Top talented producer bloke) was watching the film 'The Sicilian' (starring Christopher Lambert from 'Highlander' fame) and decided to drop in a few samples from the film whilst they were putting the finishing touches to the track 'Violet' (One of the most bestests song ever imo!). Both Seal and Trevor liked the end result so much they decided to leave the samples in.

I can't remember how long the original 'pre-mixed' album was on sale but from mmeory it wasn't long and I've had big problem's finding it over the years, so much so that everytime I have a nose at a mate's CD Collection i always look to see if they have the album in the hope that one day I'll find the elusive 'golden wonka-esque' one!!

Robo I'm assuming you're after the pre-mix version of 'Violet'? Let me know and I'll see wha I can do

As I've nudged the thread again, perhaps it's safe to assume that Beancounter wasn't able to make good on his/her offer for some reason......?

LOL Well then, as you were. I'm sure you'll find hordes of people here just dying to help you with your terribly clear request.

Incidentally to anyone that's got the CD in question: be aware that it's rare and valuable.

does anyone now have the early 'premix' version of this CD that could (if I begged & pleaded) just get knock up an MP3 of the track 'Violet' and I'll love you back for ever in return
