Looking at moving away from BT to save money, but can't find anyone who definitely supports callsign. I need the second number for my business, so it's a must have feature.

Depending on the day, seemingly, and who you talk to, TalkTalk may or may not support it, if you switch your line rental to them (though with recent hikes in price, they are not looking as competitive anyway)

Telewest are/were trialling the call sign feature in Yorkshire. I'm not sure if they are still doing that or if they have any intentions of doing so.

Cable and wireless(Mercury) offer this, but there own network is for business and goverment customers. I suggest you try Bulldog Broadband from Cable and wireless were you can still use a BT line but recieve one bill from Bulldog for telephone and internet.

Don't move your line rental away from BT, it works out more expensive.

Get free caller display from BT, and free 1571 (if that's something you like).

Bulldog is often dodgy, friends and family are still having problems with both broadband and phone from them, but they do offer many services for free, and if you use the phone a lot, 'could' work out cheaper.

You can get free messaging services from all companies!

Bulldog is still down a BT line and I know someone that has being making calls via 1280 on their registered Bulldog line and they haven't been charged for any calls!

Although, if they continue to use it, Bulldog will find out since BT is billing bulldog for the use of BT's telephone service. Most registered Bulldog lines are not able to use 1280 since it has been barred.

Plus other companies are considering free caller display without the need of registering for TPS or a privacy service.

Even with BTs free caller display, you don't have to register with the TPS, that is optional, plus many people are already signed up with the TPS.

TalkTalk charge 50p/month for the basic 1571 - free with BT.

The 50p per month talktalk voicemail allows you to access the service remotely. BT answer doesn't unless you pay £1 per month.

Telewest 1571 basic is free. it doesn't have remote access and greeting facilities.

Telewest 1571 Voicemail is £1.50 and has similar features to BT Callminder.
