That is a very good point, he spends a great deal of time reflecting on what people close to him thought, and being suffocated by their opinions and not being himself, you've only yourself to blame Alex but after watching the show maybe he'll learn from it.
”

While fully respecting your views I cannot agree.
Alex has rigidly stuck to his own views throughout, even when it has put him at odds with literally everyone else. He could well be stubborn and even narrow minded, but he has shown real guts and honesty on countless occasions - with himself.

Jade & kate seem almost in awe of him after that & Jonny is almost speechless. He stood out as a winner. Pity that it's too late for a Ch 4 show, unless Dermot shows the speeches on BBLB tomorrow.
”

I presume they will as the subsequent dancing sound has been totally cut on the internet feeds - Jonny & Kate sliding down the stair rails - amazing !!

Very honest speech.

Interesting that he doesn't want to win. His life has changed forever now anyway whatever happens. He has been influenced by Sandy Adele Tim throughout but I thought tonight came from the heart.

Well, it was live on C4 at the time, so anyone watching, should have caught it.

He doesn't realise exactly how well he's done for himself in there, or how well liked he is by his fans.

What's strange, is I've got some mates over tonight. We're all having a bevvy and watching E4, and they've all been totally won over by Alex from that speech, and will be placing their votes for him now.

All he did, was put his BB experience into context.

They still might show it tomorrow night at 8.30 because it is only 4th place winner leaving in the 1st slot

I so want to say well done, but I just can't.

I understand that he's depressed, but that shows he's not a winner. Winner's are survivors and come out on top despite the odds. He's sank to the depths within himself.

Alex, good luck to you, but you're right, you shouldn't have gone on it. It was a mistake to apply and I hope he gets help when he gets out.

Thanks. Tracy - I forgot it's on Ch 4!
Bet he'll be asked to do more after dinner speeches.
What a star!

Alex certainly isn't afraid to stand out from the crowd.....IMO that makes him a worthy winner.....no compromise, even at this late stage......I am impressed !!!!!!

I agree, but unfortunately after his performance in the diary room tonight he may have blown it.

The speech that Alex made was heartfelt .. its just regrettable that the greater public don’t’ see beyond their noses, that out of all the housemates Alex has been the most genuine and entertaining of all. I would love to see him win because he epitomises the good in people rather than the bad… when you look at the other housemates you see ‘desperation’ .. a wanton need to achieve a goal and do so at whatever it costs.. so in that respect, maybe Alex not winning will be the best thing that could ever have happened to him..

I think the reason that Alex refers to what other people have said is to illustrate that they/he shared the particular point he is about to make. I know he has on occasions said that he has been influenced insofar as he may not have noticed something until it is pointed out to him, but that once it is, he agrees with it.

whether he wins or loses is immaterial now

he has already blown it. he is thoroughly miserable with the whole affair.

I'm trying to follow this without having seen the speech.
What exactly did he say? Anyone briefly help?

But he hasn't not won yet! (improper use of the present perfect for a future event - sorry Elysium for pointing that out).

IMHO He is the undisputed winner, the only one with that elusive X factor & charisma. Must admit though that seeing him & Kate together in all their finery, they make a handsome couple.

Seem to remember Brian being in a similar (if not the same) position last year - he was guilt ridden and couldn't understand Deans confidence in him winning

I don't agree that he is depressed. I think he is in a very reflective mood as it is the last night. He seems to have learned a lot about himself and perhaps does not like those sides of his personality and was honest enough to admit it.

I wonder if any of the other three have learned anything?

I think that he is a winner, both in the context of the show as well as in his personal development during the show. He's a winner, because so many times he has wanted to leave. That would have been the easy way out but despite how down he's been, he's remained and entertained us sufficiently to survive 3 evictions. He also dealt with being nominated far better than Johnny did and I imagine that being nominated 3 times can knock ones confidence. He was realistic enough to realise that is the name of the game and if you cheese people off, they're likely to continually nominate you.

On the personal development side of things, I think he has reflected on some of his personality traits and acknowledged them. People who acknowledge the things they dislike about themselves or more likely to do something about it.

I hope Alex wins, but if he doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised if he thought that he didn't deserve to anyway and these are some of the traits that I like about Alex. As well as being amusing of course!

Well said. He has made it very plain that he expects Kate or Johnny to win. There would appear to be far more depth to his character than any of the others, and that means the highs and the lows. He at least seems real.

How boring was that speech. I feel sorry for him, he got involved in something he didn't want to do. I'm sorry, I've nothing against him, but he isn't worthy of winning. I know you will all disagree, that's fair enough. ”

I don't disagree I just wish he's stop raining on everyones parade. They are all tense and hyped up about the end, trying to chill for an hour or so, and what does Alex do - spoil it all again - for Gods sake although I've loved BB3 if I never see or hear of him again (which I think is highly likely) it'll be too soon

How can you say that he has taken being nominated well. He sulked every time and even yesterday when he discovered Kate had nominated him he went into a deep decline. Get real. It's only Alex fans who are so blinkered - the rest of us can see what is what - why does that not surprise me and what does it say about the type of support Alex atrracts?
