The fact that E4 have only chosen Alex's speech in the highlights clips surely shows how highly they rated it.
Of course they might show all of the speeches throughout the day but the kids have taken over the Sky box.

I suppose it all depends on how endearing you find people who try and turn social events into self-analysis sessions.

Alex's speech was well put and he had obviously practised it in his mind beforehand. He even went into the bedroom before doing it to regain composure. Although it may have seemed to be 'from the heart', I believe it was a connived and calculated attempt to steer the public into feeling sorry for him for the suffering he has had to endure (in his opinion). However, I would like to think that all of the HM's in this year's BB (with a couple of notable exceptions) have had to suffer Alex and his obvious lack of social skills and 'holier than thou' arrogance.

The speech simply made me think ...the guy has hated every minute ..will only bugger off abroad as soon as he wins ....knows he's made a bad mistake and wants to be "a face in the crowd" so he can go out with his friends unrecognised .....doesnt need the money ....and only phoned in because he was "stoned" ....nope not someone I'd like to vote for ....he doesnt WANT to win.

Well BB1 and BB2 winner Brian and Craig never thought they would win, its natural not to want to win it at this stage because you finally realise the enormity and responsibility of winning Big Brother and what comes with it.

Alexs' speech was a cracker, the others were good as well.
Jade's second speech was very funny. 'all f**k off and leave.'

Dolce & Gabanna were the real winners.

There's a BIG difference with not thinking your going to win it and not wanting to .....he doesn't WANT any of the fame that comes with BB ....he never did ...according to his speech .

I'm just looking forward to him going abroad ....the quicker the better

Its part of his original job, or have you only just found that out!. Although Im sure he will be willing to except that Bryl contract and others too which will see him in the UK for some time . I think those kind of comments are just out of jealously. However if you watch any real life shows especially the one about that famous female model its not all roses and chocolates. Judging from your registration date I think we will be looking forward to you going elsewhere

I can't help feeling that Alex is still heavily influenced by Sandy still. I wonder how Alex would have fitted in with out Sandy ever being there!? ”

I think the answer is "better" tbh. Don't get me wrong, I *liked* Sandy - having someone in there that wasn't after future career opportunities, or constantly striving to make people like them was something I found quite refreshing (don't know if I could have stood it for 10 weeks, but there you go).

It seemed to me that Alex' "up" times have mostly occurred when he wasn't so closely in the orbit of the more cynical members of the house. The week on the poor side away from Sandy, after Adele left, etc. Had Sandy not been there, the possibility exists that Alex might not have been quite so cynical about the experience so early on, and possibly less receptive to Adele, and then Tim's belittling (for want of a better word) of the BB experience.

Personally, I found it rambling, quite inarticulate and very self indulgent. Didnt see the others so I have no idea whether they were as bad but if I had had to sit through that, you would have found me face down in the punch bowl.

If he didnt want the fame that goes with BB then why go in for it ? He could have removed himself from the running at any stage. I find it very strange that someone who is a model claims that he just wants to be another face in the crowd. As for going abroad, bet he doesnt when Brylcreme offer him the alleged million.

Alex's speech was no more self-indulgent, rambling or inarticulate than many of the postings on this forum
