I am thinking of buying my 82 year old father a Humax PVR-8000T. He struggles when setting recordings in his current VCR even when using videoplus.
I want to know if this EPG is going to make it easy for him to record and playback.

Can anyone help ?

It should do, all he would have to do is press the Guide button for the EPG and choose what he wants to record. Not sure what he would think when he looses the beginning/end of programmes unless he can cope with padding them; unfortunately there's no auto padding option.

Playing back is fairly straightforward, but not as simple as putting a tape in and pressing play. Why not download the manual from the Humax web site, have a look and show it to him and see what he thinks?

Some 82 year olds would have no problems but others might- you know him best!
