Sorry couldn't give a smash hit about this show now.

It's just a complete and utter disaster. John was a joy to watch and so passionate about his skating. He had a great partner in Olga and the two of them were fantastic together. They were the best in the show by miles. Anyone can have an off day, just not everyone gets punished for it. There's something really wrong with the voting system, not to mention the people doing the voting.

ITV needs a chat forum on their Dancing on Ice website. That would so make sense!
Spoiler
But then again, so would voting for JB instead of 'her'. I guess sense doesn't come into this show!

That's it - having spent the last few weeks flicking between channels for JB, I'll not be bothering with DOI.

I could accept it if he'd lost fairly, but as others have pointed out:

a) David Seaman got through on a sympathy vote, but John's natural reservation after last week wasn't taken into account

b) John got a significantly higher score than Stefan in part one, so was Stefan's performance really so much better (or John's worse) in the dance-off?

c) The men were always going to have the harder task, but JB's been the only one to really rise to the challenge

d) is for Dame...

You know it makes sense.

Just being curious, if the BBC started a show in the same time slot called 'John and Olga On Ice', who'd watch that instead??

I can not believe that John was voted out. I agree with others that John and Stefan should not have been in the bottom 2 tonight.
I thought John brought the fun and showman element out, and he had a good chane of winning.
Kelly Holmes should have went. Most of the others were better than her on the first show. She is not graceful in any shape or form

Hmmm, I guess this is one reality tv forum that just isn't for me. Despite not being in the bottom 2, Kelly Holmes is still getting blamed for John being voted off - and is also being criticised for her "manly" looks That's just low and there's no need for it at all.

Think I'll just watch the show and enjoy it for what it is.

Sorry your fave has gone, but it was his worst perfomance yet on the show while everyone else has got better. Yes, even Kelly (who I agree is the worst by a long shot ) has improved.

If we're talking about unfairness, why does Sean get a partner the same height as him so he can't lift her, while David gets a partner who is so short he's constantly being criticised for stooping while he skates?

It's not Madam Holmes fault, it's the people who are voting for her who are in the wrong! And I agree about Sean and Davids dancing partners.

I agree, I think it would have made sense for David to be partnered with Martika and Sean to have been given a smaller girl ...

Is Kelly Homes really that popular or is it more a case of people interested in general sport/athletics voting for her, probably over and over again?

I can't imagine her being popular, she's coming across as a rather churlish person who can't take constructive criticism but is happy to hurl bitchy remarks.

Jason may be blunt and his comparisons rather cruel but I don't think I've heard him say anything that isn't true.

She may have won two gold medals and been made a Dame by this government, which hands honours out like sweeties, but she certainly can't claim to be an ice dancer - doing the steps is not enough.

If only Tony's crowd had been handing out the honours when Chris, Jane and Robin were at their peaks and winning gold medals plus giving brilliant entertainment to millions, over many years, they'd all be Sirs and 'Dames' - and deservedly so!.

Kelly certainly doesn't entertain me with her graceless clomping around the ice.

If she had any sense she would listen to the criticism and take note of where and how she can improve her performance, rather than lash out at the professional's opinion.”

EXCELLENT. I couldn't put that together because I'm 90% occupied with...guess what! TV!

As in I'm watching The Pianist. Can't combine these two.

Hi all

I'm gutted about tonights results and maybe I'm being cynical but I smell a rat.

Totally agree with all those who say it wasn't John's best performance and it lacked his usual sparkle, but technically his skating is better than Stefan's. ALthough I don't think Stefan should have been bottom tonight either.

John ranked 3rd out of 7 with the judges, for him to then end up in the bottom 2 means he got very few viewer votes which I find odd.

Also, it has been suggested on another forum that Stefan's partner Kristina COUSINS is Robin's wife! I've been searching around and can't find anything to back this up but how interesting would that be if it were true.

IMO DOI lost it's edge tonight. I think you could tell by the reaction from everyone in the studio, audience, judges, celebs and skaters that something went very wrong.

Lots of love to John (& Olga) - he's a winner in my eyes.

Claire
