Krissii's got a point - it'll be very interesting to see what the ratings are next week - especially if it's still directly competing with JB on BBC...

Robin is gay. Its common knowledge.

Okay not his wife then but maybe a relation?

Like I say, I haven't a clue but I have read it - I think it was on the message board of John's website

I think its an outrage that John has gone tonight. Definitely seems like something went very wrong - I smell a coverup of some sort. There is no way Stefan outskated John tonight or any other night. I can't believe the judges knocked him out. He was the only one who could compete with Bonnie, now its going to be boring so whos gonna watch. They might as well just give Bonnie the trophy now and be done with it. I for one wont be watching anymore.

Kelly should have gone. Shes so rubbish. And im sick of hearing about her 2 GOLD MEDALS - we know she won them - big wow. It makes her no better than anyone else and she should respect the judges, they know what they are talking about, especially Jason.

John was robbed.

I am so so disappointed that John went From the start of the series he has been the outstanding dancer, and just happens to have one 'off' week, and the JUDGES vote him off despite giving him good marks.

But, no way should Stefan have gone last night either.

Kelly Holmes was by far the worst performer and it is a total mystery as to why she is still in this competition at all - despite her total athletic brilliance, she has no skating/dancing ability at all - she is totally wooden

Bonnie will probably win now, but Sean and Gaynor are the best and most improved skaters/dancers. The nerves that Gaynor shown at the beginning of the series are gone, and she just gets better and better each week IMO as does Sean, although I didn't rate his performance last week, I did enjoy the one last night

I think Holmes is still in because (and I didn't vote for her) of the rude manner in which the judge spoke to her. She received the sympathy vote. Yes, she's wooden, yes it's as if someone put a pair of skates on a horse, yes she's awful but some of the comments really weren't necessary. It was akin to saying, "You are an ugly idiot with absolutely no grace or style". Of course she would get a chip on her shoulder and react!

I think the people who called in to vote for her were probably the victims of bullying throughout the country who saw themselves in Holmes.

Or maybe they just felt like the pride of the country had been insulted and rushed to her rescue?

Can't work the quote thingy today - puter is playing up!
But in reply to a previous post, Kristina is married to Steven Cousins who competed for Britain a few years ago, he still skates but notin competitions (i think!)
But I'm pretty sure him and Robin are not related. ALthough I am sometimes wrong..............

ITV has definetely lost a viewer, I couldn't believe it when I saw John voted out last night. I agree it wasn't his best performance, but he was STILL better than other couples - I think it's all already studied before the start, perhaps John has work committments which meant he could be on the show for 4-5 weeks, and then he had to leave no matter what? Is he on some theatrical shows from April/May (which would mean he has to start reharshing now)? I think he was brought in to attract people to the show and then he had to leave for good.
I, for one, have already cancelled the show from my personal planner!

That one's perplexed me from the beginning.

We've been told that Chris and Jane sorted out the partnerships. I can't believe they would not have realised the problems they were handing to Sean and David, not to mention their partners.

Could it be that they were told to factor in some problems, to make the show more televisually interesting?

Reality shows appear to thrive on problems, arguments and confrontations; the worse the controversy the larger the audiences (I think that's the theory).

Surely it's in the makers own interests to build-in difficulties and thus improve ratings?

I'm not saying it's fair, just speculating that this could be the reason who these two chaps had such a strange choice of partner.

I'm confused by this. But Robin Cousins dismissed the problem by saying that there have been world champion ice dancers who were the same height. But surely for someone just learning to skate(like Sean) it is a massive disadvantage.

She doesn't even seem to realise that the judges are there because they are experts.

Her remark saying she would like to see Jason on skates and asking him what he's done showed just how ill-informed she is and I'm sorry that his polite answer about his 18 year career was so obviously cut short by an instruction from a presenter, producer or somebody else off-screen.

Her later remark about him getting his "Five minutes of fame off the back of me" (or words to that effect, it might have been on the ITV2 programme later) were rude and agressive whereas Jason's criticism, no matter how cutting and forthright, is always given in a polite and constructive manner.

She could learn a lot from him, not just about skating but about being an honest, objective and polite human being.

She's graceless on the ice and ungracious off it, I think I'll tape this programme in future and whizz over her bits, both the skating and talking parts, it's either that or stop watching altogether as I find her so hard on the eyes and ears.

So why was that judge crying when Barrowman got voted off . Ok, it was also a shock to me and a lot of others but for an "inpartial" judge to cry at the results.........

John Barrowman absolutely should NOT have went last night - I don't want to rock the boat however I hope its not tactical voting

I think you'll be surprised. Gaynor is just getting better and better all the time - I for one much prefer watching her routines than Bonnie being flung around the ice. I see Gaynor as the Darren Gough of ice skating.

Why the Robin was one of the first UK athletes publically acknowledged as being gay. And not just because he lives in Brighton!!

On the subject of Karen...

Impartial - but human!

Personally I thought it was rather touching that Karen was so upset and I quite understand why. John was a pleasure to watch, not just because of his skating but he had a boyish enthusiasm that was very endearing.

I can't quite understand why Karen has a place on the judging panel when she is helping with the coaching during the week. It puts her in a very difficult position, she must carry some baggage with her to the Saturday night show, no matter how hard she tries to put the week behind her and vote, as she must, on what she sees on the night.

I'd prefer to see the coaching and judging kept completely separate in the next series (there MUST be one), it would be fairer all round and less traumatic for the experts if there is a total division between the coaches and the judges.

On the subject of John...

It does seem unfair to go out when he was not, by a long way, the worst peformer last night, but if the public don't vote for him (presumably because everybody thought he was safe so decided not to spend the money on the 'phone call) and the other pair perform better, even slightly, microscopically better, in the skate-off - well, what can anybody do about it?

No conspiracy, no fixing - just plain, lousy, rotten bad luck - and the loss of one of the best, and most likeable, people in the show.

I absolutely would. If only.

I think them going first was a large factor in their lack of public votes, performing early seems to be a well known curse on these kind of shows.

I'm confused about the height issue in Sean and Marika's partnership, although I'm sure I read somewhere that David Seaman was brought in as a replacement for Paul Burrell, who couldn't skate to save his life, even with intensive coaching. This may explain the bizarre height pairing of David and Pam, as Paul would have been more her height.
Could have been "tabloid goss" so how accurate that was is anyone's guess

I have just watched the show and am in total shock!!!! I can't believe it!! Why oh why has John gone when he was the far better skater?? Obviously people want Stefan out or else they wouldn't keep placing him in the bottom two so why didn't they make it easy and vote Stefan off!! Having said this I don't think either of those two should have been in the bottom two, Kelly Holmes should have been in the bottom two. Damn, they didn't even give John a chance to redeem himself, he would have had much more confidence next week and his routine would have been back to its energetic self!! Arghhhhhh I am sooo mad, I dont think im going to watch it any more, I was looking forward to a final between Bonnie and John, it would have been fantastic to see him skate Bolero and the guy gets the harder job. Its the sound of musicals for me now!!

He just seems like a genuine nice guy and Olga seems lovely- Kelly Holmes doesn't come across well at all!! I just can't believe hes out!!
