Hey, called me twisted, but IMO anyone who chose not to vote in the last general election has no right whatsoever to a voice with regards to how this country is run.

Consider those who died to maintain democracy.

Remind me again of the candidate worth electing?

Quite correct ... the right note to vote is implicit in the right to vote ... at least until we get a 'none of the above' option.

Find it a bit sad that someone can compare the BB phone polls with the general election, that's all.

Case of very warped priorities

Alex (3270) 26%
Jade (1931) 15%
Jonny (2576) 21%
Kate (4784) 38%

I like these figures and i think they are better than DS although DS is good..

Once Jades out jade voters will probebly vote for Kate or Jonny cause they are along the same level..

Come on!!!!!!!

Have you ever heard of the right not to vote?
People died to maintain democracy to give us a choice!!

All I can add is - You don't really have a right to complain if you did'nt do your part to stop it happening. Meaning if any your personal favourite housemate does'nt win tonight I don't really think its fair to complain when you have'nt even been botherd to put your vote forward. Am I angry about C4 taking all our money? No of course not, they have provided me with all this quality entertainment so im not going to begrudge giving them 25p

If you can be bothered to visit these forums fequently, surely you can spare 25p to have your say on the outcome of the thing?

(Non Alex fans can ignore the above statement, and just not bother voting

It’s an apt comparison considering others would deny some the right to a voice because they refuse to line the corrupt pockets of C4.

Quit interrupting our electoral reform and universal suffrage discussion with some news about a silly game show!

My God I can't believe that I am doing this, but...

I'm going to agree with Straker (yes I am feeling fine Straker), everyone is entitled to an opinion without feeling pressurised to vote, especially if you feel that no-one deserves it.

However I do sometimes worry about Strakers stress levels, as the hate that he projects in some of his posts is very strong!!

Natalie goes off to lie down to recover!!

"Refuse to line the corrupt pockets of channel 4" ????????

You must be taking the p*ss !

You line those pockets everytime you watch channel 4, by adding to the viewing figures, thereby increasing C4s advertising power and profits.

If you truly believed what you spouted, you wouldn't watch the blummin thing at all...

(why isn't there an "exasperated" smiley when you need one?)

I'm not voting, but am looking forward to tonights show. I have only voted once for Big Brother, and that was last year to keep someone in. I think Jonny will go first tonight, but then its anyones guess - and thats what makes it so good.

Maybe you’d like to expand your twisted views further and find everyone who didn’t vote in the last general election and deny them a right to a voice also.

Hey call me twisted, IMO it seems anyone who did vote, still don't have any say in how the country is run. Which ever of the two parties is in power. They represent the likes of endemol, but not me, they man-manage me on their behalf. Nice.

Politics on the BB forum, who'd have thought it!?

My hate keeps me warm during the cold winter nights.

Natalie - Don’t worry about agreeing with me. It’s probably just a one-off and I promise to try and notch the hate down in time for Celeb BB.

Unless Vanessa Feltz or Anthea Turner get back in

-------------------

Noodle - What is it exactly that you find so hard to digest about my standpoint on this? I don’t approve of the way this year’s show has been blatantly manipulated therefore I choose not to vote.

Its a bit silly to like Big Brother, and watch it loads, yet not vote.. as that is what the program depends on.. people voting

As I said on another thread ... it's all the people who vote who are responsible for all the problems in the world (or something like that). I didn't vote for anyone so don't blame me. Don't elect anyone ... make the Queen make all the decisions ... and then we'll ALL know who to blame.

Or did I get confused somewhere? NURSE ... bring the restraints!

There are plenty of people voting - they won't miss mine.

For me, i think the reason i'm not voting is because none of them has earned my vote.

The person i wanted to win has gone, and none of them really taken their place for me. I backed my horse when the race began and have not seen anything that has made me change my mind. Good luck to the people left in, but i don't want to vote for any of them - would rather just wait and see what happens.

Er .... nope.

It depends why you're watching it ... if you don't care who wins but just want to see them fall to pieces / get it back together / fall to pieces again / get jiggy with the chickens etc etc etc without backing anyone then it makes perfect sense and is totally non-silly

I agree that one facet of the program depends on voting i.e. who stays in and who eventually 'wins' ... but that doesn't mean that we all have to vote and nor is 'deciding who stays in and wins' the only facet to the program! If I don't really care who wins then I'm perfectly entitles not to vote

Me neither, I too refuse to line C4/Endemol's pockets, after what I see as a sub par production with far too much meddling by BB. The show should be about a fine balance of power between the HM's, the public and BB. However, BB has tried to manipulate a script the show far too much and, for me, that kind of defeats the whole point.

If you are taking the moral high ground on this thread - do shutup!

If you want to get involved with democracy and how the Country is run get involved in politics.

Thankyou.

Bollocks, the right to abstain is important as the right to vote. What are you to do if none of the candidates accurately represent your views? How many MP's regularly abstain from votes in the friggin' houses of parliament for that matter (few more than Tony Blair)!

You must have been having agonies over the last couple of weeks then!

Great foresight! (nice sum too!)
