Well, they did say the boxed set was special.

Mine isn't - it just a bore! I'm likely to stand or sit on it at some point!

Yes there's a whole thread on OG about it - seems to be something about the glue melting if the room gets too hot.

Depends whether you want a new series or old series one - the Imperial R/C Daleks (from Remembrance) are £29.99 on Play.Com

A lot of the Doctor who merchandise is available from Play: -

http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page...ing=doctor+who

EDIT: Ah it's gone back up to £49.99 since their sale ended, just as well I ordered mine when I did!

So is anything going to be done about it on an official level?

The new-style ones are £34.99 on Amazon.

Great design but the magnets holding it closed don't seem to work too well.

Makes you wonder what design we will get for series two!

I haven't even taken the shrink-wrap off my boxed set yet - now I'm wondering if I shouldn't bother if the whole thing is going to fall to pieces the moment I do.

There is a workaround for the missing footage. It is on the disc. You just have to select all episodes, and the missing footage suddenly reappears.
I'm keeping my faulty disc, can't be bothered to send it back.

My box set was already coming apart when it arrived and is now wedged between books on the shelf to keep it together. It's not good is it? I won't be rushing to buy one for the next series.

Not as far as I'm aware.

The American and Cadadian release is in a slimline case - so hopefully series 2 will be in more sensible packaging over here.

Mine hasn't fallen apart yet - but I don't keep my discs in it anymore.

Where'd you get yours from then? I've seen them in plenty of shops and ordered mine from Play but I haven't seen any that have been shrink-wrapped.

this is great worrying, but I have to admit the US boxset looks good.

It is worrying. I don't really like the Tardis box. Pickily, it not even Tardis shaped!

US Packaging:

I'd much rather have that than the cool-looking-but-impractical Tardis set we have here. With any luck it'd be cheaper as well.

Hell no! I refuse to by the DVD set just cos the box is A) shitty material that falls apart B) chunky and stupid. I'm waiting for a new box design, or if it gets cheaper.

Mine came that way from Amazon.

I'm going to contact the people who replace the faulty dvds and see if this packaging can be made available for people whose boxed-sets are falling apart.
