If Spencer hadn't gone out when he had?

He was everyones favourite for a couple of weeks, and then went up against Alex and lost. As Davina said to him "if you had been up against any other member of the house, you would have survived".

So a hypothetical:
(Making some assumptions) If Spanky had stayed and was there today, do you think he would be more popular than Alex? Or would he have dropped out of contention?

Havn't a clue have changed my mind frequently between Jonny & Kate also swung towards Alex once or twice. It also may of changed who was up for nomination as Spencer was a dark horse when it came to noms. One sure thing would of happend if he had stayed!!!!!!! Everyone would of left suffering from Athletes foot!!!!!!!!!

he might have survived another week or so. Apart from a vaguely charismatic character, y' have to remember he was largely bone idle and no conversation, and his only real concern was beer and fags. Not a good HM. No... things wouldn't have been so different.

If Alison had beaten Alex I, and many people I know, would have stopped watching as she was just soooo loud and annoying. Sure, be happy, but it was getting that she was dominating proceedings (note her being pretty firm with Spencer when he was in the bed with Kate, even though they were just messing around and Kate had asked him to come in). She wanted her own way far too much.

I agree - Alison did want her way too much. although it would have been interesting to see how she would have reacted to verrucagate and the victimisation of Sophie - and what she would have made of Tim!

Totally different indeed. And lets remember that Alex only stayed in that week because of all the gamblers making a killing on voting for Alison (plus some dubious work on the part of the programme). It would be ironic indeed if he won tonight as it would be partly down to the bookies naievity.

I still have a few pangs of guilt about the whole Alison thing. On the day before she was evicted I made up a story about the BB producers planning a hatchet job on her for that nights program because she was breaking all the furniture and they wanted her out. I posted it to Popbitch early in the morning, which got copied and posted here amongst other places, later that day there was a run on the betting for her. With the vote so close I can't help thinking my little white lie made all the difference. I really wanted Spencer to win so was mortified when he lost to Alex who could have gone in week 2.

Don't worry, you may have done us a huge favour - rescueing us from weeks of Alison!

Never mind that, how different would it have been if Jade rather than Lynne had been evicted after the first week?

Like her or loathe her, she's been the dominant character in this Big Brother, taking up more space on here and in the tabloid press than any other contestant.

If Alison or Spencer had stayed I don't think Kate would still be there, and even if she was she wouldn't be the bookies' favourite. She got much more popular after Alison and Spencer left.

If Spencer had stayed in over Alex, I have no doubt he wuold have won. His popularity was largely based on his good looks (I'm not being mean, I am/was a HUGE Spencer fan) I'm sure a lot of Spencer fans just didn't bother voting to keep him in (like me) because they expected him to stay (I was unaware of all the campaigns etc at the time). If he'd stayed, I doubt that Kate would be that popular on the outside of the house but she might still be in there simply because she would have been "in" with the power people in the house. The major difference would have been with Jonny. Spencer had a lot more dominance over Kate than any of the others, and she rarely bothered with Jonny while Spencer was still in the house. Jonny knew he had no chance of being the leader in the house when Spencer was there. I'm sure secretly he's pleased Spencer went when he did.

At the time of Spencer's eviction, I'd have liked to see both he and Alex in the final 4. Since then, Alex has irritated me hugely and I am no longer a fan. It's impossible to say what the house would have been like - probably no better or worse, just different.
