Hi there,

I recently purchassed this device and have been well happy overall but have 2 quick questions:-

1 - When editing the title of either cheuled recording or a recorded event how do you change from upper to lower case?

2 - Is it possible to dim the display on the front of the machine?

Thanks in advance

1) yes - use prev/next (shown next to the backspace and done button on the onscreen keyboard) to switch case and get more symbols.
2) not that I know of - doesn't seem to be an option on the menu.

No 2 has been asked before and the answer is no.

I am lucky in that my TV cabinet has darkened glass in front of the Humax which dims the display to an acceptable level.

The only other option seems to be to get some transparent masking tape of some sort. I think that some members have posted about that in the past.

Or turn it off at the mains at night to do your bit for saving the enviroment come on Humax than fan needs to turn off in standby! like pace pvr3 does.

I'd have thought the tinted plastic films you can get from craft shops would do the trick - but they may also filter the inbound IR signal from the remote too

It's only a tiny area he'd need to mask off so it shouldn't cause a problem with that. If you had one, Cliff, you'd know that.

You could buy mine.... it's for sale at the mo'

Nothing wrong with it; in fact I love it to bits, but Mrs r only uses the Toppy, and I have to use the HTPC to record my stuff via webscheduler.
