Are these problems with the 5800?

The Humax 9200 cuts out both picture, and sound,on both the TV's analogue channels, and any equipment connected to an alternate AV channel, until initialisation has been completed.Additionally, crosstalk is experienced on an alternate AV channel, and the Humax also emits signal interference on the analogue TV channels even when recording from standby.
Are any of these faults a problem with the Topfield.

No and I am not sure they are inherent problems with the Humax either. Sounds like you have a duff example.

Never mind those - I'm more worried about missing recordings, loosing all recordings and recordings with no sound!

gomezz,
Humax has admitted to me that cutout is inherent, may be a software fault, and is currently being investigated.
Crosstalk is apparently not a one off.

Hi Terry

I have not heard of any of these being problems on the Toppy. Cannot say from personal experience as I do not any more bother to even feed an RF signal to my TVs analogue tuners.
To be honest when you can record two channels simultaneously and watch a third recording or even watch a third channel live in some cases I dont see the point of using analogue TV as well.

I think the Humax can do all or most of these tricks as well.

Hi Richard,
the greater concern for me was the cut out ,and crosstalk, affecting the alternate AV channel(s),as it ruined a recording I was making on a DVD recorder at the time.

Was this via a SCART cable directly linking the Humax and the DVDR? I would suspect a faulty / unscreened cable.

No.
The Humax 9200,and the DVD recorder, were connected via scart cables to separate scarts on the TV.I was dubbing from a 8000T connected directly to the DVD recorder.
