Apologies for the double post, but I am desperate

I have a PC with an ASUS A7V600-X motherboard, which has USB2 . The Windows (XP SP2) USB2 enhanced host controller drivers are the most up to date that "Update Drivers" can find. The Humax drivers are v 0.1.0.0 and the E-Linker is v2.1 I am using a single short USB cable, ancestry unknown.

The problem is that the Humax only connects with the PC at USB1.1 making file transfers a no-go, typically 20 sec/MB

What can I check get it to connect at USB2

I find the same, i even got a high quality USB cable. However if i disconnect/reconnect, within 2-3 cycles i get connected at USB 2.0

I think humax are looking into this as part of the next software update... maybe

This is typical. The box is supposed to be USB2 according to the box, so either plainly isnt or theres something wrong with it.

The other thing which either may be the reason or doesnt help with the quality of transfered stream is that there is no error checking apparantly taking place in the software during the transfer.

Does anybody know if it is possible to connect the devise via USB and using some tools, check to see whether the connection is USB2 or USB1. Using the time it takes to transfer stuff using elinker may be a read herring as it may be that its just the oftware that isnt very good.

Thanks Chris. It took about twenty or thirty disconnect/reconnect cycles, both in the software and the old-fashioned way, but it has found USB2 at last
