I see there is a new Pioneer model- the 640HS due out in June 2006 in the States- Does anyone know if this is likely to come out in the UK. It seems a nice unit- takes DIVX and also has a USB connection. I was going to by a Pioneer DVR but thought Id hold of for a bit if this was to come along.

same here, it maybe out around march/april uk. i like the spec and it can play dvd + and -

All Pioneers can play + and - already.(or will the new model record to both?)
A UK release before a US release is unlikely,and specs often change when machines come out here,usually we end up with a smaller HDD capacity.

Actually, with the current generation, the US machines have smaller disks than the UK ones...

A bit of googling suggests that it will be able to record to + - and RAM. And it will play (but not record) DIVX disks.
