No, no such thing. No-one is bringing CRT HD sets out over here. Where have you seen 1&3?

Why would you want CRT? The closet thing to CRT is SED displays and they won't be out for a good 6 months yet and they might be really expensive to start with

For SD signals, you still get a better picture from CRT than LCD/plasma.

That TV is not HD Ready.
It does have a component input which supposedly supports 1080i, but that doesn't mean it displays HD. It's not totally clear from its specs and manual whether or not it does, but I very much doubt it - the fact that it is not mentioned anywhere except in the very small print suggests not! It lists its "scan type" as PAL, ie SD. Even if it did, lack of 720p support and no HDMI means it's not HD Ready. |

I believe the lack of HDMI/DVI(HDCP) means it's not HD Ready. As long as it supports over 720p, it does, then it's HD Ready.
Not a bad TV I think. I'd rather have this than a 720p LCD with the same connections, since you can probably output 1080i on almost all HD devices |

Who advertised it as HD Ready?
Unbeatable has 'HDTV Ready' which is *not* the same thing... don't get caught out by the difference. Also it won't do 720p so is probably unsuitable for Sky HD anyway, even over component. |

However I would be wary of buying something without HDCP (ie not HD ready) because some studios will elect to limit the resolution on non-HDCP connections. In terms of picture quality it should be better than anything that isn't 1080p, and maybe even better than 1080p LCD's |

I would be gobsmacked if the Sky+HD box did anything other than output the channels in their broadcast resolutions, ie Sky Sports ijn720p, Discover in 1080i. Why would they bother building in scaling when all HD Ready TVs can acceopt either?
Anyway it's irrelevant as I very much doubt that this TV can display more than the normal 576 lines. Pretty sure it's a standard SD TV which has a component input. It will display 1080i buy simply displaying every interlaced 540-line half frame as if it were a full frame. |
