After watching the housemates full-time for all 9 weeks as a DS:BB reporter, I personally feel gutted that Kate won. The ex-performing arts student doesn't need the money for a start (It's been hard not to say anything but one of my mates worked with Kate in London and she frequently bragged about being so wealthy that she didn't have to work).

Also - the fact that she was quite happy to puke everywhere , let someone clear it up without so much as a 'thanks' made many people mad. Alex and Jade weren't perfect and Jonny was paranoid and a bit obsessed with the whole Big Brother experience....but speaking on behalf on my family and mates, most of them were dismayed that Kate won.

I really hoped a smart, attractive, strong woman would have won Big Brother. Instead an unnaturally thin, outdated ladette who thinks throwing bags of Pork Scratchings at anyone who weighs more than she does is funny has grabbed the crown.

Nope, I think she was a very deserving winner, she entertained me and made me laugh throughout. The right person won but the wrong person finished 4th, I think Jonny should have finished fourth and Jade at least 3rd. But in answer to you question nope, Kate was my first choice to win and has been since the day they entered.

I agree Emzi - she just saw it as a springboard for her acting carrer, I'm now starting to think Id have even preferred Jonny to win over Kate - the fact people voted for Kate 'cos a girl should win it'.....pffff

It also speaks volumes about the type of contestants that will apply next year.

When she walked in the door I thought - oh here's the slim attractive fitness freak thats probably got no personality (sorry for being prejudice so early). But she almost straight away impressed, joining in, surviving on the poor side and getting on with it. She was a lively funny girl throughout and I can't see anyone else who deserved it more.

Sure Jade and Alex had some pretty hilarious moments but their intolerances of other people and cattiness stuck out like a sore thumb.

I'm quite happy with the result. It wasn't Jade (who thought Alex deserved to get bullied, Kate & Sophie were "dogs", Sophie should just give up talking, etc, etc. If we're going to compare nastiness) and it wasn't Jonny. An unexpected but not altogether unpleasant outcome.

I suppose it comes as no surprise that I do. I think Jade should have won, although I would have been quite ok with Alex winning.

I was watching Kate (last night - its all gets a bit blurred) when they were drinking that punch - she almost puked into the bowl, but carried on drinking!

She was drunk at her interview with Davina, why on earth did she make herself a bowl of punch?

Jade was lovely though - I thought she looked great and handled the interview very well. I hope she makes wise decisions and lots of money, and as much as she loves her mother, gets away from her.

Jonny interviewed well - Alex seemed a bit over-awed.

Just my thoughts anyway.

The winner of BB should not be based on who needs the money most, it is not a charitable event, kate was the most popular and she deserved to win.
If a poor person and a richer person enter a race, you do not let the poorer person win just because they need it more, that is not competition.

Why don't you Kate and Jonny fans start a thread with something like, "Well done Kate", "Jonny did well" or something, instead of jumping on to the Alex and Jade fans threads and goading them?.

Still as negative as before, while all the Alex fans are doing, are saying that Alex and Jade have been real stars and will be remembered and saying why they didn't prefer Kate as the winner.

I'm happy that Kate won, to be honest I wanted any of the final four except Jonny to win. There's reasons all of them should have won, just happens that Kate is the one who appealed most to many people. Maybe she doesn't 'deserve' it as much as, say, Jade but she's certainly been entertaining.


I think we could quite well have seen that in 2000, had the deal with Craig donating the money not been leaked. He didn't 'deserve' to win it either.

Miles_T, it actually does have a lot to do with representing people, a lot of people didn't want Jonny to win because he was showing a lot of the worst Northern stereotypes.

I have been an Alex fan from Day 1 but can honestly say if Alex didn't win Jade was the next person I would have liked to see win......these 2 have beeen the most honest people in the house for weeks now.

And before anyone jumps on my back I am 37 years old with 4 children and feel Jonny & Kate did not set a good example to the youngsters of today.
