After reading a few more comments:
I agree that Kate's humour is very obvious and personally I prefer more subtle/dry wit - but Spencer got kicked out and no one else in the house excelled at the more subtle humour I felt. Alex tried, but failed all too often, Jade wouldn't know subtle if it came up and smacked her in the face, Jonny = subtle...never! Of the others, I think Sunita would have been great to have seen more of as she seemed intelligent and very adept at quick wit and subtlty, but we just didn't see enough of her which was a pity, but I can completely understand why she wanted out of the (mad) house in that first week! |

Kate is a dullard and appeals to people with a dumb-down sense of humour, ladettes, or blokes who like to look at her in a bikini, or naked in the shower. Those are the people who voted for Kate.
Yeah she deserved to win because she got the most votes, however it's a sad reflection on the voting public, don't you think? |

Originally posted by emzi restalez Forgive me Emzi, but your comments are almost verging on mysoginistic. Why would the female winner have to be "smart, attractive and strong"? Craig from BB1 was a meathead and Brian was hardly touched by the brainy stick. But they won because they were popular and the majority of those who voted wanted them to win. It's not rocket science. And being a Digital Spy Reporter doesn't really add any weight to your flimsy reasons why Kate shouldn't have won. No offence - it's only a gameshow.I really hoped a smart, attractive, strong woman would have won Big Brother. Instead an unnaturally thin, outdated ladette who thinks throwing bags of Pork Scratchings at anyone who weighs more than she does is funny has grabbed the crown. For what it's worth, I'd echo previous comments that it was a surprise that Kate won, but it was a pleasant one nonetheless. I warmed to Kate a lot of the progress of Big Brother 3 and was very happy to see her win. Her genuine surprise and modesty at winning was great to see. She deserved it. Odd x |

I noticed from watching the housemates that people generally attribute their own predudices to others when judging them - and that seems to be the case here! Just because people who like Alex do so because of his looks (regardless of how judgemental, hypocritical, rude and selfish he could be), they feel other people are as shallow when deciding who they prefered in the house. - note, this is deliberately gently taunting as I feel slightly offended to have been judged as so shallow myself simply for having formed an independant opinion of someone which differs from someone elses....the one thing BB shows time after time is that our own predudices decide who we prefer, and any analysis seeking absolute trueth in "who is better than who" is bound to fail as it's hunting for angels on the head of a pin.... |

I found the campaigning for a female winner ridiculous, never been a fan of positive dicrimination. There's never been a female BB winner - well there's only been two BBs; hardly as if women have been down trodden in the world of BB for decades is it! We haven't had a black, fat, disabled etc winner so i would welcome less of the 'we must equal out the winners' campaigning next year. |

And before anyone jumps on my back I am 37 years old with 4 children and feel Jonny & Kate did not set a good example to the youngsters of today. BTW my hubby wanted Jonny to win and even he is gobsmacked by tonights results. She doesnt set a good example at all. I would have liked to have seen Alex win, if not then Jade. |

I was an Alex fan but I have no problem with Kate winning mainly because after being with Jonny for 9 weeks she deserved it.
Alex lost it becuse 1. On at least one occasioon he stated he wanted to win just to stop the others winning 2.On the last night he stated that he had not enjoyed the programme and wished to forget it. He was not bothered about winning. A new voter would say, " Why bother voting for someone who is not interested in the contest ?". A fan who had previously voted would not bother to vote again for the same reasons |

Kate is a nice person but bland. She and Jonny did have a conversation about the Euro which was their intellectual moment. Yep they could be funny in their own way - slapstick. It's not my sort of humour but fair game.
Jonny and Kate are probably genuinely nice people. They are not perfect though. They did annoy me on eviction night with "spontaneous" scenes and gloating in public but we all make mistakes. Alex was funny, sweet and different. He was by no means perfect. He really didn't do himself any favours in week 8 with his depression/I want to go. If that crisis had happened earlier then it would have been recoverable from but it came too late in the game. a lot of people didn't like Alex for their personal valid reasons and so Jonny and Kate were the best alternative. I don't mind being classed an Alex fan - I dare to be different and don't expect everyone to agree with me. I'm a bit eccentric myself. For the record I don't fancy him, his smile is wonderful but I prefer men with more meat on them. Hil |

Does it say Digital Spy Reporter under my name or can't you read? Many people feel deflated that
Kate won because -well - she isn't nice or even endearing, basically Quote She is to over 3 million people. I never found Jade endearing at all, but if she had of won the fair play. I wouldn't of liked it, but it would of been the peoples majority and I did see the good qualities as well as the bad in Jade. Shame as a reporter you can't in Kate. |
