Thanks, AT. I did see an advert for this but had already forgotten about it (can't think why I'm so forgetful these days )

It is a fantastic film. I already knew the story, but we watched the film in PSD (Personal & Social Development) when I was at school as part of a discussion on the death penalty. No matter what your personal feelings are on the subject, it's impossible to deny that it's a very moving film.

So glad I get The Grauniad delivered on Saturdays!

Hmmm... I am a little curious as to the timing of the Guardian issuing this film, so soon after Pc Sharon Beshenivsky's funeral.

Finally got round to watching the film tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had seen it before, but a long time ago.

I noticed a Rebecca Eccleston and a Peter Eccleston playing younger versions of Iris and Derek - can I take it that they are relatives of Chris's?

I saw it when I was about 13 and remember being quite haunted by it... joined tesco.com dvd rental a few months ago, and that was the first film they sent me... still just as moving at 26. Loved the film.
