An experiment. Because I'm curious.

Brought it on herself. I'm female and 27.

(However that does not mean that Barrymore did not act like a total mental case over the Quorn incident )

Careful, discussion of banned members will get you banned. Especially if there's sneaks about who'd rather click the report button than try to formulate an intelligent argument...

Bullied - Yes
Should she have taken responsibility for her own actions - Yes
Should she have taken responsibility for other peoples actions - No

She really didn't deserve what was dished out to her.

Bob thinks she totally bought it on herself, and was not prepared to listen,as she knows better!!!!

Yes, she was bullied. 39

I didn't see the first few shows, but what I did see was a disgrace.
Nothing could deserve that sort of response.

What would have happened if he'd said a really nasty word?

So where are all the 'Bullymore' people? Everyone here seems to say she deserved it or the others over-reacted but her behaviour basically started it. Who's posting all the 'Evil Bully' threads?

I think she bought it on herself, though the others were a bit silly in letting it get to them that way. They would have been better off ignoring it and let her carry on the way she did the first few days instead of letting her get the sympathy vote. 41

They're too busy arguing on their own threads!!!!

She was bullied. Maybe the others didn't like some of her behaviour, but they had a choice about how to deal with it and made the wrong choice.
Instead of assertively tackling antisocial comments and actions when they occurred, they let things fester until they boiled over in aggessive gripe sessions which were not handled in a mature fashion.
The very manner in which these confrontations were conducted was what made it classical bullying. The motivation is never a factor in bullying, so you cannot make excuses that "... but she brought it on herself"

I'm Female and 35.

Her own fault. (And I thought I was going to like her in CBB).
Male. Over 20 but under 50.

She brought it on herself. 43.

I cannot understand why she thinks that everyone (at school, in the press and in the house, etc. blah, blah) are bullying her. Surely, if she perceives everyone to be bullying her, she might start to notice the common factor in all of this - her?

Not bullied. Male, 43.

They clashed with her because of cultural differences rather than because she was weak.

I think she brought some of the abuse on herself but some people were a bit too harsh sometimes - i'm 20

Yes she was bullied - female - 26.

She was an easy target, and I'm glad she had the strength to stand up for herself. She could've whinged a little less ("Everybody's pickin' on me"), but however annoying/vulgar/self-centred she was, she did not deserve the way George and Michael spoke to her. Put yourself in her shoes - grown men speaking to you in that manner, rallying others against you - it must have been, to quote her, hideous.

I think she was bullied to an extent. I don't think I could have put up with some of the ranting and raving that was aimed at her without becoming slightly undignified.

As I wasn't being much of a lady last night I feel I can reveal my age ... 31

Not as straightforward as the OP suggests.

JM fed them the bait, but the piranhas attacked and wern't happy to nibble and bite - they wanted to eat her up and spit out the bones.

mid 40's.

Whilst she didnt make things easy for herself at first, Barrymore, Pete and George jumped on her weak points and simply wernt reasonable such as the likes of Rula, Preston and Faria...so yes it was bullying IMO
