What is it with ITV? They advertise C4'S Big Brother the show like hell! It has been on the news all the time - was on today about Jodie being evictied, was on when Jodie was being bullied, was on when Barrymore went in.

Than they advertise C4's Desperate Housewives! Why are they advertising BB and than putting ti up again Soapstar Superstar and want to get ratings.

I dont think ITV have any control over whats on the news as thats produced by ITN.

But they have been very childish about ignoring BB on their other shows. It wasnt even mentioned on the TV preview on GMTV before it started.

Its normaly is by Polly Hudson - the woman who does the TV bit on GMTV she mentions it alot - she has a BB coloum in the daily mirror = silly girl really.

I'm sure that GM:TV and ITV are different channels, even though they use the same frequency. I know it sounds daft, but I think it's true. ITV is owned by Granada whereas GM:TV is owned by Disney. It's probably more complex than that, but I'm sure that's roughly how it is.

That's sort of right. ITV basically owns the majority of GMTV, 75% to be exact, whilst Disney owns the other 25%. GMTV uses the same frequency in the hours 6am - 9.25am, during this time you're watching GMTV, not GMTV on ITV1. So GMTV isn't a show, but a channel in it's own right. It's all very complicated really, but ITV will probably buy out Disney's share eventually, meaning they'll have full control of GMTV. When that happens, nobody knows.

How odd! I've never heard this factoid before - fancy Disney owning GMTV - no wonder they've got puppets presenting it

All three on Entertainment Today (2 presenters and showbiz person) were agreeing how good Big Brother was on Friday.
