I used to go skating 2 or 3 times a week when I lived in Stevenage. Haven't been now for 16 years, can't believe it's so long, there's no ice rink here - Cardiff is the nearest I think, 90 miles away.

tell me about it. We are having a new leisure centre built at the nearest town soon, I was praying for an ice-rink, but the nearest we're getting is 10-pin bowling. Better than nothing I suppose. Maybe I can skid down the lanes and pretend

You have to watch the footwork - theirs was the most technically complex.
Personally, I'm always less than impressed by Bonnie - she did little actual skating during the first two weeks, and she was always physically supported by her partner. She did better this week though.

John looks the most confident and balanced on the ice, and you mustn't forget that the male has a harder job than the female.

In short, to me, Bonnie looks like a dancer, whereas John looks like an ice dancer.

Don't know who sings it, but the announcer said it was Black Horse and the Cherry Tree.

That's precisely what I was going to say. I'd also add that John has brilliant musicality in his routines. He and Olga always dance to their music whereas others don't use it as well.
