Where can I find the setting on a Philips DVD Recorder so that all DVD+R and DVD+RW discs are book-typed/bitset to DVD-ROM as default?

My one's the Philips DVDR80 but 70 and 75 are similar.

Thanks.

Philips recorders will booktype +R discs to DVD-ROM on finalising.

+RW can be individually set to DVD-ROM by opening the tray, placing the disc in, and closing the tray by pressing and holding down the '2' button on the remote until the tray closes.

If this doesn't work, then perform the same process but using the '3' button.

AFAIK there isn't a way of having +RW defaulting to DVD-ROM, because there isn't a finalising stage.

Thanks for that. I read in a forum somewhere that DVD+R discs are book-typed to DVD-ROM but wasn't 100% sure if a setting had to be adjusted.

I was hoping there was a way to book-type DVD+RW to DVD-ROM as default without having to carry out the procedure. I read it in the manual but again wasn't totally sure if this referred to book-typing as it doesn't actually mention 'bitsetting/book-typing' at all - the manual's for less advanced users.

Do you know why the '3' procedure is done if '2' doesn't work?

As far as I'm aware there's only one type of bitsetting/book-typing.
