9200T: Three Lock-ups In One Evening
sdc395
15-01-2006
After weeks and weeks of reliable service, my 9200T has locked-up three times during this evening's viewing.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the specifics of the first lock-up.

The second instance occurred while watching Invasion on Channel 4. Towards the end of the programme the picture appeared to freeze but the sound continued. I attempted to tune away (to ITV1 using the channel up/down rocker on the remote) but the Humax locked-up after the i-bar appeared but before any picture was shown.

I switched the unit off and rebooted in time, I think, to hear an apology from Channel 4 about picture issues so I'm guessing the initial frozen picture was not the Humax's fault. Can someone confirm this?

The final lock-up occurred as I tuned away from E4 to BBC1 (by entering the channel number) after watching the Invasion first look on E4 (which was also being recorded).

Despite hanging, the box still sounds as if it's recording/buffering to the hard disc.

I'm becoming increasingly concerned about the reliability of this unit. I hope Humax's forthcoming update sorts this out.

The picture after the ads of the car tyre was a fault at their end, was displayed on cable and freeview.
