Apologies if this has been asked. I could find no answer on the (otherwise great) FAQ or search.

When I'm recording on the Humax my MP3 section is greyed out and I can't play MP3s. Is that right?

I find it strange if that's correct as playing back MP3s would only usually happen in my house if we were recording something.

Looks like you cant. Maybe its a limitation of the power of the machine rather than just the way the software is. I.e. it cant decode MP3s as well as do stuff with the tuners at the same time?

I've had my Humax 9200 from its first release and it's easily the best bit of kit I've owned. Brilliant.

I was trying to persuade my Mother to get a Freeview recorder as her setup at the moment is a nightmare if she wants to record TV (which she can't do without a massive list of 'things to do').

So instead of saying "It'll play your MP3s" (I've just done her CDs to MP3 too) I'll have to say "It'll play your MP3s as long as you're not recording a programme which is what you spent the £200 in the first place for".
