The only problem I can forsee is that he will be up against Madonna and Westlife, who also release singles on the 20th.

Fingers crossed that he does well!

Yes, the almighty Westlife. So, is this another cover they're releasing then? I can't see them being much competition for Chico. It's a novelty single, like the Crazy Frog, let him have his moment, god knows it won't last much longer.

Yes, looking at the other releases, it does seem a really tough week to be releasing a single.
Still, we both not that whether the single gets to number one or not, this isn't going to be the last we see of Chico.
Though it may be the last we see of him on the Sony BMG label - not necessarily a bad thing.

I had a clip of it via an e-mail which was kindly sent to me by Sony/BMG without my asking.

I don't know if everyone who has posted on this thread are aware, but 'Chico Time' is now being released on the 27th and not the 20th of February. Can't wait!

Is that X-Factor video of "Chico Time" on Chico`s website, the official video for the single?

Good luck to Chico - hope he makes No. 1!

It was played on my local radio station, on monday morning. Unfortunately, i just happen to be listening at the time imho IT SUCKS.

Fortunately, the DJ's agreed and promised us, that it would never be played again

I think he/she might be wise to carry a walking stick to beat off the annoyed Chico fans as well!

My experience of local radio choices tend to be that they continually play stuff that isn't always to popular taste, but more a case of what record companies are prepared to pay them for airplay. 'Chico Time' will sell in bucketloads, so I doubt if the record company are worried about spending un-necessary money on that.

It won't matter one jot anyway, Chico will have a big hit with this single. He's being given high profile on the X-Factor tour by hosting it as well as performing. He also has a great number of TV appearances over the next couple of weeks as well.

Good Luck to him! He isn't afraid to work hard and you have to admire that, irrespective of liking him or not, as the case may be.

If you look on his website, you'll see that quite number of his fans have met him. He really is a very nice man, very appreciative and takes time to chat to them. He even requested on the forum that anyone off there, who goes to see him at a gig, should bring a banner to let him know that they are there, to ensure that he gets to meet them. He's as good as his word on that as well.

Not only all of the above, but he also posts personally on the forum regularly, his brother Mac joins in with some of the threads and even Chico took time out to join in a thread for a short while last Sunday night, even though he had been up to Wakefield all day and was really tired. As you can imagine, everyone on the forum was really thrilled by this.

Personally, I have never, ever come across a artist like Chico for genuiness. It makes a change to be a fan of someone who actually gives back some of their time as well.

No need for a big stick, i can take care of myself thanks

I doubt very much it will sell in bucketloads as it is so bad but on the other hand, it wouldn't be the first crap song to become a hit.

Still at least i haven't got to listen to it anymore

I was just browsing through Yahoo's UK Launch site, and the Chico Time video popped up! So I emailed myself a link, just in case it vanished - but it is fully searchable from the main site, or this link should take you to his page: clickety ici

You can vote on the clip as well, and if you leave it running it'll just randomly play other videos at you. Very randomly, which is kinda fun.

I agree, he's not my 'cup of tea' by any stretch of the imagination (just ask Mel ), however, good luck to him.

If he's enjoying what he's doing, and people enjoy listening to/watching him perform, then I fail to see what harm it does.
