He didn't come over as Jolly Jonny in that clip: the "humour" had a very nasty edge to it which makes me wonder if he was letting himself through )

Seriously, the word was "moments". 99% of material jonnykate used was repeated soooo many times (hackneyed old skits and catch phrases) to lose its status as a "moment".

If Alex had hid behind the door 100 times - it would have stopped being funny at take 2.

Jonnykate don't know the meaning of the word spontenaiety - even when it in the script

That's part of the reason it made me laugh as it was one of Jonny's few genuine moments and a departure from his self proclaimed "joker" role. At the time I was already finding his over the top acting wearing thin as well as the fact that he kept pretending he had no issues with anyone when it was clear he did. Therefore it was refreshing to see him "bitch" openly.

That said, it would be way down my list of favourite moments.

We are supposed to be discussing why none of Jonny's and Kate's clips were in the top 5 not slagging each other about who we support.

Kate won, fair enough, I accept that the public have found her to be the most likeable person and thus she ended up wining BB3.

But as far as some of funniest and entertaining moments were of Jade and Adele (The verruca incident), Alex (The dancing behind the door and falling off the coach drunk etc.) and Spencer (in the diary room.)I even think some of the most sexiest moments was actually between Adele and Lee in the earlier weeks. They entertained us more whether you liked them or not.

Whether you like him or not the person the camera liked Alex the most and of all the HM's he will be the most famous, the spontaneous dance behind the doors was extremely sexy even for someone like myself who doesn't actually fancy him. He did provide the audience with some of the best entertainment in the house because of his charisma and his ability to stand out above the crowd. You don't have to like the man, but at the same time you cannot deny that with right people behind him he could be a star for the future.

Jonny and Kate didn't have star quality or the talent to keep audience entertained with different episodes of their characters, they won because in the end the audience felt sure about them, they reminded them of the boy and girl next door, someone they could identify with and feel safe with. They were to the audience ordinary and easily liked by the majority. This is not a put down on their character. To the viewers they were ordinary people, a peoples person.

An excellent post without slagging anyone off.

Says it all doesn't it ! As we all know ALEX & JADE were the STARS as these forums clearly show.
”

And these forums speak for the vast majority of the British public dont they.

Most people on these forums said Alex would win, that says it all doesnt it.

Judging by tonights program you'd think that Jonny's best moment was when he said "I'm gonna show all the girls me willy" which just about sums up his performance. [/b]”

The only time i laughed at Jonny was when he said that the accordian would have to be surgically removed from Alex's chest.

Am I missing something in wondering what was so special about Alex behind the door? To me it was just a poncy guy buttoning his shirt as music came on. To be honest I have often something similar when going out on a Saturday night in my younger, slimmer days. It just seems to me its the teenyboppers who found that memorable.

it was nothing special, i think you will find it's young people who haven't been out much who find that scene impressive

Shame then that it was played on RI:SE every morning last week, even at least 3-4 times one morning! I've seen it at least 3-4times on each BB special since then, it was great timing, it was the most playing up to the camera moment on BB3 and it is quickly becoming the most overplayed clip. It won't be long before it becomes the most annoying clip. It's good but please don't over play it

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Kate win the Funniest Moment for her classic drunken fall?

Quite agree this forum does not represent the majority of the British public who only watched BB for 30 mins per day.

What this forum represents are the fans of BB who watched via PC or courtesy of E4 many hours of BB every day not just edited highlights.

Therefore if you state the majority of these forums wanted Alex to win as did the DS poll (flawed though it was) does this then represent the opinion of true BB fans.

They finished 1st and 2nd overall, you'd have thought they would have had at least one memorable moment between them. It just seemed odd that Alex and Jade had two each and those two had none.

I guess they can't really have been interesting enough, makes you wonder how they topped the poll really.
”

The whole "memorable moments" thing wasn't very good in my opinion, and I'm sure Kate and Jonny didn't mind not being in it. The clips shown didn't really make either Jade or Alex interesting did they?
1. Jade and the verucca - us laughing AT Jade not with her. She was very drunk and being completely ridiculous, that's why it was funny.
2. Alex and Adele's snog - both pissed during a game of spin the bottle. Only really memorable because it was so graphic!
3. PJ and Jade's snog - again whilst pissed, memorable because everyone wanted to know how far they went.
4. Sandy's escape - he'd already decided he wanted to leave, but wanted to do something "different".
5. Alex behind the door - again pissed, but a truely memorable moment nevertheless.

See......Kate wasn't the only pissed person in the house. 3/5 chosen "memorable moments" came when the HMs were drunk.

Sorry to be pedantic but the spin the bottle occurred when they were on the poor side and therrefore would not have had enough alcohol to get pissed.

Make that 5/5.....Jade most definitely was pissed, and Alex said on Rise this morning, Sandy told him he was drunk when he escaped!

________________________________________________

The answer is simple. Their moments were not so memorable

Fact...Kate won and Jonny was one of the runners up. The moments were not particularly spontaneous apart from falling over when drunk.

Alex Fans should not gloat . He may get contracts worth one million pounds plus but Jonny has won a stately home. It is called Bugger Hall.
”

pistonbroke, I wasn't expecting that, you got me, certainly made me laugh.

And for the record I've only ever voted twice during this years BB, once to vote spencer out and once for alex to win, maybe you had the number for kate on redial, some of us are less obsessive...

Alex's wit was genuine and often a lightening sharp response to the situation around him unlike the laboured "spontaneous" humour of Kate and Jonny. Watch You've been framed and their ilk and you'll see plenty of examples of the contrived humour of the Jonny kind. I can imagine Jonny saying to Kate let's ask BB to put the Bee Gees on and then I'll stand behind a door and play the clown etc etc. Only someone blessed with the dry wit and elegance of Alex could deliver a genuinely spontaneous performance of such panache that people will remember it for a long time and perform pastiches of it. BEFORE it was selected as the best moment of the series, Dermot had already carried out a parody of it, proof of it's potential classic status if ever there was. I will always think of Alex whenever I hear that particular piece of music in future and I imagine so will a lot of other people regardless of whether or not they are die-hard Alex fans.

Agree. Sorry to be a pedant but the song was by KC and the Sunshine Band not the BeeGees
