Sorry to hijack the thread further, but;

My recollection of Alex' house meeting was that he asked people either not to piss on the loo seat (or if they couldn't avoid it. to wipe it off themselves) and something about not leaving porridge in the cups for someone else to have to wash out. I remember thinking at the time that it seemed fairly reasonable, and was a little surprised at the uproar it seemed to cause.

Returning to topic, I only caught a little of Kate's appearance - she seemed a bit awkward when I saw it, shy almost - did she loosen up later? I got the impression that she's still a little overwhelmed by it all.

Maybe if London had stuck to the subject rather than going off on a tangent to try and get a rise out of Alex fans it would have been more succesful..

I know everyone here is a fan of Jonny but I know if I had have been in the house and Kate my mum would have been a bit worried about me continuing a friendship with Jonny because of the drinking sessions that happened. Even today Kate told the public she had been told off by her mum because she drank too much. He may wish to continue a friendship with her but I don't think it will be as close. The other thing you have to consider is that he has said he fancied her and if you were Joanne would you want him to spend time with Kate.

Did you notice than whenever Kate's Dad was shown on TV he didn't look too happy and didn't have much to say?

As a Dad myself I would have been incandescent with rage at the way Kate was treated by Jonny (No criticism of Kates Dad here.....I think he was)

I think pouring drink down someones throat when they already can't stand and they are saying no is wrong. Read the reports of that night, Kate was in a serious medical state. Cameras were turned off her for 40 minutes and they thought they would have to go in the house to her. Drinking to comatosed state can be fatal.

I love to hear the English language used to the full.

Some people around these forums only know the basics of the English language and most of the words they know only contain four letters.

Incandescent - one of the meanings is to show a high degree of emotion - intense.

I think Pedro was right in his assessment of how Kates father may be feeling.

Don't get me wrong young monster.............I like a drink myself and I have been known to get legless from time to time. Mebbe I'm a different kind of drunk but I dont bother ppl, just tend to go to sleep and take the hair of the dog when I wake up.

The behaviour I was referring to was the type that can sadly end in date rape. Doesn't matter how much a young girl has had to drink............she should not have to put up with that type of behaviour

Denise, sorry but I have to disagree with you yet again. BB are meant to be watching the housemates 24/7, if they thought Kate was going to be in a bad way they should of called her into the diary room and told her to stop drinking and they should of gave Jonny a strike, but they didn't. It's called having fun. Sometimes it can go a bit OTT but how many people out there have done exactly the same, loads, obviously your not one of them

They sank without a trace too didn't they - all except for one shining star who left before the end.

You obviously didn't see the events unfold of that night or read the reports after. Jonny was called twice to the diary room and ordered to put Kate in the recovery position. 40 minutes of footage couldn't be shown that night, and all references the next day by the other housemates were censored because Kate was in a SERIOUS medical state with the producers and doctors called in the early hours of the morning. Kate was given medication later.

Saying something that became out of control to the point they thought the programme would have to be pulled is just a bit of fun and to lighten up is crazy.

This wasn't the first time there was a scare with Kate while drunk, she fell asleep in the bath and an announcement had to be put out for one of the other housemates to go in there and slap her to wake her up.

Yes I have had many a night drinking heavily, but I would hope that a friend would never force feed me alcohol against my will when I was already at the stage of passing out. If Kate had died of alcohol poisoning or choked on her vomit then it would have been manslaughter as it was poured down her throat against her will.

Did any of you actually watch the GMTV interview that this thread is supposed to be about?!
Kate's mum did indeed say she thought Kate was drinking a bit too much, and there was a freindly little disagrement between mother and daughter which was really sweet. Mrs Lawler then went on to say that she thought the papers were blowing "that" night out of all proportion, as there was no way (or words to that effect) that BB wouldn't have intervened if Kate really was unconscious and her lips were going blue.
Kate said that she was very drunk and was sick, but it was not half as bad as people think. They were all quite chirpy about it.
The interviewer than asked Mr Lawler if he felt that Jonny should have looked after Kate more that night, and he said that he had no bad feelings towards Jonny, that Jonny himself had obviously drunk too much and that all the press reports making out that he was trying to take advantage of Kate were rubbish.
Mr Lawler certainly looks like a man who is very protective of his daughter, yet he said he doesn't blame Jonny for any of the drunken antics and that he wanted him to win if Kate didn't.
I think that says it all.

And for the record, Jonny's fiance has said that "Kate was brilliant. I wasn't jealous about how she and Jonny got on".

I'm sure they're going to remain great friends.

I still can't understand how someone as 'fastidious' as Alex wishes to remain friends with such a 'DISGUSTING' man - Sandy and millions of viewers know how Alex feels about such disgusting behaviour, how did he know who would empty the bin? it could very well have been Alex. Sandy, by this disgusting act, showed utter contempt not only for hm's but also for his best friend Alex!

I think what Mr Lawler says in public and what he thinks in private may be 2 different things.
I saw the events that night on E4 and it looked horrific to me what i saw.
Mr lawler is not a silly man and knows that anything he may say against Jonny would be taken out of proportion.
as kate is 22 ,not a child he probably played down her feelings for his daughters sake. She obviously has forgiven Jonny. But she was in a very bad way and Jonny was trying to force drink down her and get her to take her clothes off and paddle as he put it in the pool.
I think we have a right to our opinion about this event. A lot of us are parents and have also been in situations like kate was that night.
Maybe some of you younger ones may take heed and learn it isnt clever to be that drunk. I've done that ,been there as well. But i dont think it was clever, many a time i regreted it.
The ladette days are over by the way....... we did that 18 years ago.
Also no matter who it was pouring drink down anyone i would think the same not just that it was Jonny.
