Jonny's campaign was well planned, clubs, pubs, even colleges where students were encouraged to support him with offers of lifts down to Elstree. Regional newspaper coverage and entire workforces backing. His mum and dad's 'tireless campaigning' was commented on BBLB - even then when the polls started to lose favour for him, they pulled out their ace thinking it would tip the balance - they deserve the award more than Jonny.
”

Are we forgetting 'property develloper' Sibley circulating posters inside newspapers in his area, posting them all over London - so much so that he was instructed by Mr Plod to cease - and forever subjecting TV viewers to his unfortunate physical presence - never mind his patronising drone and anti-everyone else remarks at the drop of a hat - get real purleeease!! Anyway who said housemate's families were not allowed to get involved for heavens sake

Who knows ... but then he didn't use a charity to try and grab more votes in the run up to final week.
”

We have no proof that Jonny - or more like it - his family did either, no proof at all. How do you know he wouldn't have given some to charity if he'd won anyway - you dont't, so don't go there.

Jonny's and Kate's antics ( aided by the Alison person in the first couple of weeks) was directly responsible for most of the confrontation we saw together with the generous helpings of booze provided by BB.

If a HM was not willing to play the game the Jonny/Kate way they were abused, ridiculed, bullied (please see the volumes of evidence provided in earlier threads).
”

I think this is a tad unfair considering that they were sharing a house with a man who - every single nanosecond of time that he was not getting his own way or having his views acknowledged variously sulked, withdrew into a corner (those were my fav bits!!) bitched, spread rumours, jumped on bandwagons, caused an uncomfortable atmosphere and generally threw his toys out of the pram You are so blinkered - look at the evidence!! I am not suggesting that Kate, Jonny or anyone else was perfect, but don't imagine for one second that Alex was a saint, robbed of his deserved crown - the facts are he wasn't, he isn't and in a couple of months time he will no more than a nasty memory

( wormy little impostor )
One persons view of a massive tragedy is another persons 'old chestnut'! hmmm, sorry fae, this is more than an old chestnut!
”

It is an old chestnut because everyone who heard and understood is tired of repeating what Alex 'actually said' for teh past nine weeks - which was absolutely nothing derogatory about the tragedy. If you were an avid fan of the programme you would also have heard Alex and Tim discuss the event in sympathetic terms - but then again, that would have been one less reason to fault him. Give the guy a break.

Sorry to disagree ....in a couple of months Alex will be the only memory from BB3
As for your other comments I do not recognise the Alex you are referring to - he was just being himself, playing honestly and fairly showing us all sides to his character & not just one contrived side - designed to pull in the votes.

You have to admit though, whether he would have given the money to charity or not, it's a pretty crass remark. I am sure the comment was made to win votes , but even if it wasn't contrived, to make such a comment is asking for criticism.

It's all very well telling people you are going to donate money to charity if you have it, but saying so when you don't is a very empty promise.

According to Dermot - they were the stars of the series.

I don't think anyone said families couldn't get involved but as far as I'm aware none of them were as active as the Reagans. It's just a point made when someone else suggested that Jonny had no celebrity backing - he had much more ground roots backing than the others.

will Jonny be donating any of the money he makes post-BB to the NY fire service?

Oh silly me of course not, he'll need that for his train fare back to newcastle

There, there now.

One of the positive things about the series for me was the few times the HM's actually had a decent conversation. Tim, Alex, Adele and P.J. were very interesting to listen to. It's quite immature to suggest that they only talked of themselves, they talked about travel, cars, university, holidays, careers, films, astronomy, family and other subjects - very entertaining - wish it had happened more often but gradually as the numbers decreased - so did the stimulation.

The full interview with Alex & Jonny is can be downloaded from the link below.. best for broadband users: 70MB's (20 minute interview)

http://www.digitalsauce.cwc.net/RISE_1.avi

It's in DivX format so will be playable by most PC's .. and includes Alex's "behind the door" moment along with his sing-a-long in the studio to it.. If anything it just goes to prove that we will be seeing more of Alex and less of Jonny.

Now that I do agree with They did discuss a wide variety of subjects as you say when there were more of them, and Jonny was involved in some of those chats too - not that I am a Jonny fan as you will know - and I feel that becasue PJ didn't rise to Tim's bait 'look how great and rich I am' the converstion took a better turn. Whenever he could you must admit Tim did use the floor as a stage to talk about 'me etc etc'

What you consider to be tripe I consider to be my opinion, to which I am entitled Mr Sibley was not expressing his opinions about anything, he was stating facts (!) and giving information, much of it erroneous as it later transpires.

You only consider it to be 'tripe' because you don't agree with it - wouldn't be an Alex fan by any chance
