To Jonny fans:

Is Jonny the best BB housemate ever?

In my opinion this has been the best BB by a huge margin, and I just want to see if these answers help to illustrate that it may have well have been.

Please, please don't mess up this thread by saying that Alex is better than Jonny or vice versa. Try to not indicate who you don't like if you can.

I'm an Alex fan, and he's become my favourite of all the housemates past and present. Although I, like most people, thought that Brian was a star. It's hard to compare them both.
But Alex showed so much of himself, even to the point of throwing away opportunities of winning.
He could turn from being the most irritating whinger to being a star with huge charisma.


p.s. I've decided to put the question to both Alex and Jonny fans in the same thread, to try and prevent people from hijacking the thread because they don't like the promotion of just one of them.
(Probably a bad idea, just hope no-one messes things up)

Alex was very 'quirky' some of the things he did came natural to him and made the rest of us laugh (well I laughed). I think most of the time he spoke his mind, apart from the times he was being influenced by the others. ie Adele, Tim and Sandy.

I dont think Johnny was his true self, He kept himself in resereve and was totally miserable when on the poor side without his 'fags and booze'.
He just wasnt funny without a drink. (was he with one??) which leaves me wondering, if Johnny had been true to himself .would he have lasted as long? Had he been up against Spencer would he still be 2nd.

I also think that the week there was no nominations, Tim would have been out (against Jade) them Jade the following week. The winning week would have been, Alex 4th, PJ 3rd and still Johnny and Kate would have held there positions. Alex did say that he would prefer to be either 1st or 3rd or 4th, he didnt want 2nd place. But he was Pd off that he didnt win. I personally thought it would be Jade or Alex for the prize.... But It was only a game show and I the public did pick their winner, and I loved every good, bad ,gory, funny ,boring minute of it... And I miss them all already

Out of the final four:

Alex was 'eccentric' and great entertainment, Jonny was 'egotistic' and comical, Kate (who was my chosen housemate) was natural but self-centred, and Jade was very amusing but very annoying at the same time.

I hope the last paragraph was fair and unbiased!

Brian was definitely a star and that is why I would consider BB2 has the best ever, but I did love every minute of BB3.

I think the last four housemates made the show. In the past it's been a boring last couple of weeks but this time it was SO excellent. Great mix of people, they all deserve a prize even though we all have our favourite.

Without Alex and Jonny BB would of been crap. We wouldn't of had weegate or the seperation of two tribes. Without Jonny we wouldn't of had an instigator of some brilliant games that Alex when willing joined in provided us with some wonderful memorable moments. They were the best of enemies, but both were honest with one another and now after the real cheats have went and they've gotten to know one another hopefully they can become friends.

I just meant that, as I find it a wee difficult not to be partisan, I should not get involved in this discussion as that would spoil the spirit of your thread.

Actually, I think I fu**ked it up myself. I wasn't really clear from the start.
I didn't mean that anyone had to say why they like both contestants, just their favourite, without slagging off the other one.
I confused the issue right from the start.

I posted this mainly because I had a hard job yesterday of finding threads without a slanging match going on.

I expect people to be partisan, that's the whole point about whether you think your favourite from the two is better than anyone before.

I might try and start another thread in the future, once I learn how to.

Well you know where I stand on Alex so no need to go in to that again.
On Jonny , I wish him all the best now that he has left the House
and I hope he makes some money out of his BB experience - why shouldn't he, lots of others are.( though I don't think he will do very well as he is a total loss)
As a housemate I found Jonny appalling - he represented all that I dislike in people and I stand by the points I have made elsewhere on numerous occasions on numerous threads.

I genuinely believe that had Jonny been evicted in the first few weeks the show would have been just as good without him ( we would have been discussing Alison's tiresome games or Lynnes bitchiness etc).
However had Alex, and or perhaps Jade, been evicted early on the show would have bombed. They provided all the talking points, their antics and views raised the most pertinent issues, their behaviour stimulated debate and bought on hilarious situations etc - which is what I believe makes them the stars of BB3 and the 'real winners'. The whole BB debate, in the House and out of the House (even on the DS forums) has been about these 2 for most of the time.

Now why did Alex lose the official vote, despite being so popular in the middle weeks of the series ? His association with Tim who just did not want to play the game ! This effected Alex's game in a number of negative ways.( I hope not too many forum members spot this last paragraph - its the sort of thing I only mention in private !)
