Philips 610 problems

Does the firmware update on the philips site actually fix anything re the following ?

My 610 will now and then tun on and turn off many times and so affect any timed recordinsg resulting in say 25mins of a 30min recording being actually recorded

Sometimes I am unable to play or FF a recording as I get Error

If you haven't updated the firmware on the unit since it was bought, then you should certainly do so. The type of problem you describe, and others such as random SCART source switching, is said to be fixed by a firmware update.

On the Phillips Website I can only find firmware update for dvd-r615 will this work on dvd 610

It's on there, I've updated my 610 and it apears to have made a difference
