Maybe I phrased it wrong and implied that all gays act a certain way.

What I tried to say was have fewer of the camp, weird dressing ones who seem to think that being camp and dressing weird makes them interesting. It doesn't - or not for more than two minutes at a time.

If we are going to watch these people for 12 weeks there needs to be more to them.

And to be honest that applies to the non gays as well.

It just seems to me that any boring person can turn up in the queue for additions and if they act hyper they will be seen. But that doesn't mean that they will make good housemates.

We might all scream freak and Oh My God as they go in but they will soon appear normal and if there is nothing else to them other than dressing up it will become boring and tedious.

We need characters who may have conflict with some of the other people but not contrived like 'I hate asylum seekers' so let's put in an asylum seeker, kind of conflict.

The tasks that the housemates have to do should make a real difference and not just be about food. Maybe instead of treating the HM's as individuals, have them in teams competing on a daily basis for resources that are really needed. That could cause tension and conflict rather than the 'let's put in loads of booze and stand back' .

I agree and with all the points the originator of this post said. The weirdo's are getting so boring.

Well, I think I'm going to give it one more try. I learnt a lot about the auditions last time round, so I'll see if it pays off.

Hi everyone I thought I might just contribute to this thread, it’s quite interesting. Anyway here are a few of my thoughts, I am a 16 year old lad in my last year at school in Brighton and as I’m a school kid I hear a lot of gossip about what all the children think about the contestants and as I know that ..
1. Young teenagers are quite a popular viewer and …
2. They usually are the voters as they have their own mobiles, I believe that putting people in like Pete burns or Rula can really make them switch off (I’m not being against those sort of people because I love watching people like that) but I know that a lot of young straight boys really are against ‘gay people’ or ‘transsexuals’ and find ‘older’ people boring.
Another one of my ideas is that, I know the whole concept of nominating, tasks for food etc. is what makes it BB but I was thinking, what if it’s time for a complete revamp, I mean like what if you put a whole bunch of NORMAL young single good looking contestants ageing from 20 to 40 and letting everyone talk about nominations and actually team up with people to get others eliminated and of course they could lie and backstab (after all it is a game) then once someone is evicted every week get the public OR contestants to choose LIVE between two other wannabe contestants (after they have 2 minutes to explain why they should vote for them) to go into the house that way you will have loads of personalities throughout the series, you could even have the new contestants each week be the ‘freaks’ and ‘outrageous’ contestants which we’ve had in the past two series (these are my own opinions) - Kemal, Nadia (loved her!!), Ahmed, victor, Mary, Marco etc. etc. so that you end up with the same amount of contestants you started with but with different characters in the end then in the final 2 weeks have one voted off one by one by the public or contestants which will leave you with 5 at the end etc. (I haven’t thought about the ending so I’ll leave that to you guys)
One other thing maybe have an element of the ‘7 DEADLY SINS’ in seeing as it is the seventh BB and maybe even have the new contestants each week following one of those sins e.g. you could have gluttony - a big lady/guy who only thinks of themselves? Or a really good looking girl who just loves stealing/manipulating men - lust??
You could make the tasks so that whichever teams lose they have to go into a separate bb house which is for the poor?? Etc etc.
These are just a few of my ideas that I have come up with and thought of as I love reality shows and you could probably tell that these are all made up from a few existing reality shows all put together as one but one thing I believe would be even better Is to come up with a completely new style and set off a new brand of reality show.
thank you to all of you who have took your time to read my ideas, I would really love to hear your comments and criticism good or bad .

Thanks

I still think that they should be allowed to talk about nominations. It'd give less confrontational housemates a way to gang together against a troublemaker, which should limit a single individual's reign of terror. And just generally add to the intrigue

True, I used to love the weekly task, where people had to work together to achieve something. Perhaps they need to think of other things (other than the weekly shopping budget) as prizes.

If Endemol do read these threads I would like to say;
my family have been BB fans from the beginning, that was until last year. My sisters, mother, niece & myself all watched it & often went to my mum's on eviction night for a girly time. Last year I watched it for a week & gave up in disgust, eventually we all fell by the wayside. The only one that bothered to go back to watch the last show to see who had won was my niece who is 21, but she did not vote at all.
If this is what has happened to one family, how many others did the same? It would be interesting to know the viewing figures for last year compared with years before. (I think I may try & look it up).
Please, please change your contestants back to more "normal" poeple instead of wierdos & "actors" that seemd to continually scream.

Great post skyegirl!

I agree with you SO much, I do hope BB is reading!

Judging from 95% of this thread, the freaks have freaked us out and the bores have bored us to death ...... we want INTERESTING, not weird; TENSION, not fights, NORMAL, not contrived.

Tasks need to be more thought out and NEEDED to be participated in, so there has to be justification and reward, not just *luxury food* or booze.

Punishment should be REAL, STRINGENT and ON-THE-BALL, to stop peeps messing about. and being half-hearted.

I love some of the great suggestions, especially from Theinsider2!

jacquiann, we did exactly the same as your family!

I personally think they have the format for the CBB shows much better than the normal shows. A good mix of age groups instead of all that screaming, possible sex etc.( who cares......... )

The best housemate's for watchability was a plastic 80 year old woman (Yeah Jackie) and a repulsive elderly man (John)

BB5 and BB6 -I gave up watching.............

Why dont they have a few viewers selecting who THEY want to watch- instead of BB producers selecting what they THINK we want to watch.............

It is an absolute disgrace that disabled people appear to be discriminated against in this way. If it is a simple matter of the tasks, then the tasks should be adapted to accommodate this.

I believe Endemol have trotted out the task excuse before-I think this is a smokescreen and that the truth is less palatable.

I am now getting quite cross and will be going to the London auditions, if able.”

You should definitely go for it, although you do sound altogether too sane and normal to be chosen!

Working towards a better food budget is all very well but when housemates are hungry you get constant conversations and arguments about food (BB6's Roberto got obsessed with it). I'm all for teamwork but exemption from nominations for a week would be an even better prize and would ensure that housemates gave everything they had to win the tasks.

Go for it! What have you got to lose? The experience of going to the audition will be fantastic. Let us know all the gossip when you go there

BB has gone steadily downhill since BB2. I hardly watched last year's and I miss it.
Although I loath Craig (the winner) I think the first was the best because they had no idea what an impact it would have. The second was saved by Brian, after that thinhs went pear shaped.

Maybe they could have two identical houses side by side. Each week they all participate in a task against the other house. The losing house are all up for eviction.

Half way through the houses could merge into one big one again

We hear tonight that you are now about to hold auditions for entrants to the next Big Brother series - BB7, 2006. Here are Digital Spy members' wishes for suitable entrants, tasks, etc. (and yes, we know you read these boards )

** PLEASE don't grab the first camera-hungry wannabees who 'seem' as though they will be good on camera. Let's have some people who aren't actually a member of Equity, and might just be an ordinary UK citizen who wants the BB experience.

** PLEASE let's have some 'normal' characters...look to BB1 & 2 & 3 for normal - yet quirky - *ordinary* people who can bring more to the house than screaming divas.

** PLEASE let's have some 'normal' bodied people in the house - you may think that we all want perfect boobs, bums, nudity, nortiness - but hey! It's much more FUN when the HMs ARE NOT exhibitionists, and have NORMAL bodies....give us some ORDINARY shaped/sized people! PLEASE! (I'd even go so far as wanting to put some plumper/skinnier/shorter/taller people in....they're more normal than "perfect"!)

** PLEASE don't put the series emphasis on sex! If it happens, it happens, but MANY of us watch it for the chats, laughs, conflicts, discussions, day-to-day stuff...and any sexual undertones are an added bonus, NOT the reason why we watch BB!

** PLEASE don't have too many teens/early 20s people. Likewise: PLEASE don't have too many older people. Give us all a good mix of ages. I'm 33 - so not OLD, and last year's BB (BB6) was mostly like watching a gaggling screeching gang of daft teenagers. PLEASE give us 12/15 HMs who span the ages from 20 through to 50+. Why do you think Celebrity BB works so well? It's not just the "celebrity" status that has ensured it's success....

**PLEASE don't give us too many 'oddities'....we don't need to watch cross-dressers, politicians, geeks, overtly camp guys, gangstas, over-opinionateds, transexuals, etc etc etc to get our kicks out of BB. Think back to BB1.....they were plucked from obscurity - AND PEOPLE STILL WATCHED!!! Why? Cos viewers could RELATE to them! Get that kind of mix now...I wonder what you would have? I'd be watching And just imagine if you threw an 'off-the-wall' member into the 'ordinary' mix...CBB3...Jackie anyone?
Yeah....brackie...

Over to you, my fellow Forum Mates ”

Agree with all of that. Also can they *please* drop the whole "lets introduce a new house mate half way through" It's so predictable now.
