My final Jonny thread.
emma555
30-07-2002
Over the weeks, I can't even begin to count the number of negative comments made about Jonny. So I've decided to make one final thread, and say all the things I loved about him. For me, he made the show, and I wish him all the best for the future.

~ gave Alison the necklace
~ comforted Jade when she was down
~ always very polite to people and treated them with respect
~ didn't really bitch even though half the house did it to him
~ when Sandy told him he didn't like him, it obviously affected him, but he didn't lose it
~ made an effort to get to know everyone
~ was genuinely delighted for Kate when she won
~ after him and Alex fell out, for making the effort a few times to sort it out
~ pulling his weight in the house
~ having a lovely smile
~ having such a good nature
~ the chocolate raid
~ for entertaining us for 9 weeks
~ for all the games and fun he brought to the house
~ for saying those nice things about Alex on eviction night, even though he didn't have to
~ for being a great friend to Kate, Alison and PJ.

Do any other Jonny fans have anything they want to add?

He made the show for you and that's what matters.(I'm not having a dig!!). Everyone's entitled to their own opinion

You've just about got it spot on emma555. I think he's a top bloke, a good laugh and apart from a couple of nights when he over-indulged a bit was definitely the most decent, well-rounded person to enter that house.

emma555,

Congrats on best Johnny post, as the opposition, I have read. No bashing, just concentrating on what, for you, were his good moments. I find myself thinking of him in a more favourable light (don't know if this is because he is not there to contradict you anymore ) but, anyway, I think, the majority of the things you said were true! He comforted Sophie as well. (My, and some other peoples' problem with Johnny was just that I wasn't sure if he acted like that because he was genuinely nice or whether it was just for the camera).

My only gripe with Jonny was the was he kept moaning about his parents coming down for eviction nights. But he even said it when he was being interviewed by Davina, so that wasn't all an act to escape being nomed, rightly or wrongly they were his true feelings.

Agree with all your points, well made except

I really wish he had said what he really thought about Sandy at the time. He said it in the post eviction interview, I wont repeat it here but i would have had a lot more respect for him if he had.

Isn't it strange how opinions differ? I don't pretend to be a Johnny fan but he earnt some respect from me for holding back his reaction to Sandy and keeping his temper and dignity. What he said in his post-eviction interview was very funny (and true) but wouldn't have done him any favours in my eyes if he'd said it at the time. Fair play to Johnny for keeping his temper in check and reacting in a polite and mature way.

Well some would perhaps argue that.......the man was a drunk, a bore,a two-faced fake, a manipulater, a molester, a bully, a sexist, a homophobe, a cheat..........please don't let these forums close without learning one single thing.

I actually don't agree with a thing you've said but at least a Jonny fan have managed to praise there housemate without insulting another. Well done!

Let's leave the Jonny lovers to enjoy themselves and go and read Alex's best moments again to remind ourselves what funny really means.

Letting Jade win the musical chairs even though he had spent a week on the poor side.
Doing most of the cooking on the poor and rich side.
Helping Jade through the bars on how to cook steak in wine sauce even though he was on the poor side and then asking to smell it!
For making a chicken out of a towel!
For looking so funny in the 70s gear
The Jonny dance which I loved
Not taking the phone call from his family and giving the chance to Tim
Comforting Tim when he was upset
His Will young impression
Always trying to get on with Alex!!
Being caring etc...
and making me laugh

Well he couldn't have been that much of a star, he came third if you remember.

Well done though emma, would never have described myself being in the jonny camp so to speak but you put forward a good argument.
