Good question.
In
July Sky announced they will show their premiership coverage in HD.
However the article only mentions about 100 games which seems to exclude the fifty on Prem Plus leaving 4 possibilities.
1) Prem Plus will remain SD only
2) Prem Plus will be available in HD at no additional cost, (above the normal Prem Plus sub.)
3) Prem Plus HD is given free/cheaper to Sky Sports HD subscribers.
4) There will be a Prem Plus HD version priced above the SD version.
I think 1 is unlikely since because as all games are being filmed in HD even now, (as I understand it for future use,) it could lead to a situation where a game was live in SD on Prem Plus but highlights on Football First & MOTD(?) were in HD. I can well imagine some people who are used to HD coverage deciding not to get an "inferior" product.
I can't see option 3 happening but it would be nice
I would
hope that 2 is the most likely but who knows?
